Its a gigantic task to calculate the carbon footprint of such a massive cluster of businesses. While calculating direct emissions can be straight forward the nuances of indirect scope 2 and scope 3 emissions are very tough to calculate and like most sustainable practices constantly being refined and improved as technology and our understanding develops. It was truly fascinating to work on this video. We learned so much from the sustainability and marketing team and it was a real privilege to be entrusted with such an important topic and video. Incredibly proud to work with the leading brand in regards to sustainability in Mauritius. Its really tough work to do whats not been done before and take the risks to lead the industry. I truly hope other large companies in Mauritius and other hospitality companies around the world continue to think more holistically and contribute to protecting our precious planet. I really believe that sustainable tourism is really the competitive edge that Mauritius needs to lean into and has much untapped potential on the market if done correctly. Rogers Hospitality has made some bold commitments and the road to 0% carbon emissions by 2050 will be extremely difficult requiring the alignment and dedication of every single stakeholder to achieve. While storyboarding and scripting with Rogers Hospitality the sustainability team wanted to highlight how critical it is that people and businesses begin to make changes and think about the ripples their actions have across the rest of the planet.
