I recently had the opportunity to attend the 11th Enovis Revision Shoulder Arthroplasty course in FIVE Labs Tampa. This was a unique course where surgeons from all over the world were able to learn various techniques for revising shoulder replacement implants. What was great was that all the cadaver specimens had shoulder implants in situ and so we could gain experience in explanting and revising a wide range of implants from a variety of manufacturers. Revision shoulder arthroplasty will no doubt increase and play a large part in my career over the next 25 years. Learning techniques for revising implants whilst maintaining soft tissue and bone preservation is key to successfully treating patients with painful and loose shoulder replacements. I am grateful for the opportunity and support from Enovis to attend the course. Particular thanks goes out to Guy Mills who facilitated my attendance to this course. Guy has great experience in the industry and a unique perspective from his sports and physiotherapy background. The faculty included world experts in this field who shared their experience and insights into successful revision shoulder replacement surgery. My fellow UK delegates included Mr. Andy Sankey from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Mr. Abhinav Gulihar from King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. It was a pleasure spending time with them in Tampa.
