Before joining Fixa, finding stable employment was a constant struggle. I depended on old supervisors and sheer luck to secure work opportunities since I had no way to prove my skills or work experience. Often, I would work for just a week and then face long periods of unemployment. Eventually, the lack of consistent pay forced me to move back in with my parents; I simply couldn’t make ends meet. Everything changed when I joined Fixa two years ago. With a digital record of my skills, I’ve gained steady access to work and timely pay. This digital profile has allowed me to work on four major construction projects over the past two years: Inyange Milk Factory in Nygatare, Amahoro Stadium, Green Hills Academy, and now Zaria Court Hotel. I’m even starting to build my own home, a dream I once thought was out of reach. When I joined Raneso, we had 2nd and 4th Saturdays off. One day, I needed to visit my bank for some work, but due to office hours, I couldn't go during weekdays. Earning good IT salaries while working remotely from home in tier 2 and 3 cities is a double blessing. Know many such professionals who make 25 LPA+ while staying in their hometown & often with their parents. Such folks end up saving a majority of their income and can achieve financial freedom within a decade. (via the 𝕏 platform) To grow as a person, one needs to get out of comfort zone, live mnew experiences. What's the use of financial independence at 40 when the person has no personality! Humble opinion: It's the drive/zeal which makes a person grow irrespective of the zone they’re in, as long as their goal is clear and one sticks to the plan. There are enough examples of people staying in Class A cities with their parents/family and still doing good in their career.

Quiet Quitting – setting healthy work boundaries or skiving off ? 🤔 The phrase Quiet Quitting has been around for over two years now. So you would think that by now there is some level of consensus about what it actually means! Apparently not. A recent Forbes article defined Quiet Quitting as “when employees are chronically disengaged at work”. Completely incorrect! Quiet Quitting describes the behaviour of someone who does what is in their job description and DOES IT WELL but doesn’t consistently go “above and beyond”. 📌 They don’t build in a pattern of staying late –they don’t accept consistent and relentless task-creep as just part of what they have to do 📌 They deliver but don’t strive to overdeliver. 📌 They will be flexible when it is really required – i.e. they won’t walk out on the dot of 5.00 and leave their colleagues in the midst of an unexpected crisis. But when the crises become everyday events and they now don’t have enough time in the working day to get everything done, when they have a permanent feeling that they are being asked to deliver the impossible…… 📌 They draw the line and reconsider their priorities They work to live and they start to value and protect their work-life balance. Quiet quitting is more about setting healthy boundaries at work and less about being chronically disengaged.
