Getting back into the office to kick off 2024 and I find myself reflecting on 2023. There's lots to be gleaned, but one major takeaway is that stocks can soar regardless of interest rate movements. I had quite a few clients who were concerned about interest rate movements last year. Here's a quick read to show interest rate analysis is of little help when predicting stock returns.

Relation Between Bond Market and Interest rates and Stock Market. When Interest rates are down or cut By Federal reserve (FED) then both stock markets and Bond price increase (Bond yields fall ) .Both Bond market and interest rates are inversely proportional. Stock Market is in uptrend when Interest rates cuts because when rate cut ( Overall Liquidity gush is coming in Market which drive stocks higher) . In nutshell When Interest rates up. Stock Market and Bond Market are down. When Interest rates are down . Stock market and Bond market are up (Bond yields for Eg 10 Yrs yields fall sharply when rate cut).
