On International Women's Day, we celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in the workforce and their ongoing journey towards equality. Throughout history, women have shattered barriers and defied stereotypes, making significant strides in every sector imaginable. From pioneering scientists to innovative entrepreneurs, from compassionate caregivers to visionary leaders, women have continuously shaped and transformed the global economy. Yet, despite these remarkable achievements, the journey towards full equality remains incomplete. ➡️ When women aren’t present, we must ask: Why not? This includes seats at the executive or management level. ➡️ When women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice. This is true of women discriminating against other women too, not just men. ➡️ When treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. ➡️ When women are spoken to in a patronizing, misogynistic way, or their opinions are not taken seriously because of stereotypes against women, we must speak up. Tomorrow We will be celebrating Women's Day, While we celebrate, let's also remember the irony: organizations worldwide will mark this day, yet many still struggle to treat women fairly year-round. According to the World Economic Forum, at the current rate of progress, it will take another 135.6 years to close the global gender gap completely. Despite being nearly half the global workforce, women face disparities in pay, leadership roles, and opportunities. It's time for real change, not just on March 8th, but every day. PS: I know some of you works in good organisations where women are treated fairly but it is not the case for everyone. It is a general observation and not an attempt to harm anyone's reputation. #InternationalWomensDay #GenderEquality
