Today marks one whole year since I started at NES Fircroft, and what a year it's been! 🎉 In 12 short months together, we've: > Completely overhauled our YouTube output to create established, well-recognised series' for our audience. > Created a streamlined schedule where content is planned and filmed in advance. > Worked with the team to establish a branded thumbnail design. > Edited 150+ videos. > Almost doubled our subscribers and began cultivating an engaged audience to help build our brand awareness. > Deep-dived into exciting and engaging thought leadership topics for both written and visual mediums. > Made a funky little trailer showing you what we're about (see below!) And most importantly: > Tried new things. Learnt a lot. Had some fun. ✨ Side-stepping from TV into Marketing wasn't an easy journey; trading in a Sony FX6 and waterproof trousers for an iPhone and corporate life, but it's certainly been a fun one, with plenty to learn along the way (and much improved mental health and work-life balance...) I can't wait to see what we achieve in another 12 months.🌟

My favorite passtime? CREATE! As a kid I only needed a piece of paper and some color pencils to spend hours in my own world. And I always had to be doing something, creating something tangible. Years ago, I had a new team member who left me completely BAFELLED. 😳 On their first day, they arrived in a slick suit, speaking confidently and joking around with everyone. The next day, they showed up in casual attire, kept to themselves, and barely smiled. The day after that, they were loud and obnoxious, and then back to being quiet the following day. I was utterly confused. 🤔 Would I trust them? Would I invest my time in getting to know them? To be honest, if someone had asked me to describe this new team member, I would have been lost for words. This experience taught me a valuable lesson: the same confusion and mistrust can happen with your brand if it lacks consistency. Just like you wouldn’t trust or want to engage with someone who behaves erratically, your audience won’t trust or remember a brand that sends mixed signals. Consistent brand messaging is crucial for building trust, making your brand memorable, and encouraging people to buy from you. You need to know WHO your brand is, much like you know who YOU are.
