Fleet Cleaner - Robotic Underwater Services’ Post

🚢 Fuel Consumption and CO2 Savings A large vessel can consume 20-100 MT of fuel per day. However, here's a conservative calculation just for fun: - A recent client’s vessel consumes roughly 40 MT/day. - Approximately 3.114 tons of CO2 are emitted per ton of IFO 380 burned. - After hull cleaning, the vessel became 10% more efficient. - This resulted in a saving of roughly 12.456 tons of CO2 per day. The CO2 emissions saved per day are approximately equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of about 606 average households (in the United States) At Fleet Cleaner, we clean more than 500 vessels per year, potentially saving as much CO2 as all the households in Rotterdam. Even if we take a conservative estimate and say it's half or a quarter, it’s still a tremendous amount! #Sustainability #Maritime #CO2Savings #FleetCleaner #EnvironmentalImpact

What is the energy use and associated carbon emissions of your 2023 Fleet Cleaner applications - and what is this as a proportion of the "conservative estimate" of emissions saved in the same year? We should always communicate the total carbon budget - not just the calculated emissions reduction. #netemissions

That's an excellent initiative.
