Hi, I'm Ross Taylor, CEO, Fletcher Building. We actually decided to look at just our operational line lead females and that's really important for us because it's the operations that are really male dominated in our sort of industry and the building products construction game. It's not it wasn't until we did that that we really started to get to the bottom of some of the things that were holding us. Hi, I'm Jasmine Lawrence. I'm a site manager here at Fenerbahce working for Fletcher Living. So my personal journey and through having the role through or relief my first interview over the phone on Zoom and never forget it was the first time I sat and interviewed for this sort of role because I've I've worked for a few developers and done project management in in Australia as well That was a female. And she was higher than the construction manager. And I just sort of sat there for a moment in awe. And I was like, but for the first time ever in my career, even from a kid with my granddad, I was like, do you know what? I can do this because orally and the ladies that I worked with actually saw hope in me. The vision for the house built by women was about normalizing the presence of females on a construction site and really having a a showcase project where we can. Invite females from all trays from the start of a bill through to the finishing and making sure that everything gets done on site by females. Our goal is to showcase these women, profile them throughout the building. Really show number one, you know young aspiring females perhaps at school, what what the opportunities are. So this was the amazing idea and then I got asked to project manager which was fantastic. So it is going to be in favor of high. It's gonna be highlighted over there in one of our lots. Hand on the heart done our job and we're saying right, this is gonna be fully built by women from start to finish, the resource Consenting said. Council design architecture And everyone involved from the office has been female and then myself as a project manager, the greatest thing has been that they've actually gone out and found women to come and work for them. And this is what it's all about. This is what we've tried to achieve. When you see diverse cultures that are really performing, you get higher engagement and what we see in businesses that get that at the top of the top of the game actually. Play three times as much profit in our businesses as well as when we look externally. So there is so much data to say it's really critical. My name is Mary Fatima Tonio. I am a site engineer for politic, so I got into construction BN internship with Fletcher. So I started back in 2019, did an internship with Brian Perry Civil. There are just some board piling. And then I went and did a graduate program with Fletchers again and now I'm a full-fledged site. Virginia working with politic women bring a lot to to the equation when it comes to decision making processes and have been, as I said very intentional about mounting to bring more more females into into our business. Being a female in this industry there are definitely some ups and downs to it as a female life build that. We collectively bring something to the table that males don't. So we all talk about the importance of diversity, but what are the benefits we're seeing. I mean when we step right back from it first year, we look into our customer base, it is a blend of females and males. I mean we can't sit here as a male dominated workforce when we're actually pointing into a very diverse customer base. But then you see the benefits in our business when you start getting diversity into teams, you get away from what I call linear thinking and you start to get a. Have different perspectives and different views and and around the world and every business you just see again and again Diverse thinking and freedom of thought and inclusiveness makes for better businesses and better outcomes.
