⛈️ Weather resilience in #aviation was the focus of the 2024 Flight Safety Forum. 🎥 Dr Hassan Shahidi, CEO & President of Flight Safety Foundation & Ian Goodwin from the FSF European Advisory Committee explain what the #SafetyForum is and how it brings together safety practitioners from across the aviation sector! Organised by the Flight Safety Foundation in a longstanding partnership with European Regions Airline Association #ERA and EUROCONTROL, the #SafetyForum each year highlights a particular safety challenge with a view to fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and thought leadership. 👉 The 11th edition of the Forum gathered experts to discuss solutions, innovation and methodologies on how to be able to improve #aviation weather resilience in a collaborative manner. This year's Forum theme is also at the heart of EUROCONTROL's #AllTogetherNow2024 campaign, which has made adverse weather management ⛈️ a top priority for summer & our EUROCONTROL #NMOC Network Manager Operations Centre is collaborating closely with weather forecasters to support operational staff in the entire network to better anticipate adverse weather conditions.

Safety is of paramount importance in aviation. At Portugalia Airlines we take this matter very seriously and we consider it to be part of the Company’s culture. Safety and Security are a responsibility of each and every single one of us✈️💪
This week is #EASA Safety Week – looking ahead to another busy summer of operations. We held 8 webinars covering different domains and topics. The key take-aways are: ➡ Safe at heart - #Safety is more than a priority, it is a core value at the heart of everything we do in aviation, make this a reality and not just some nice words. ➡ Focus on your risks - Look ahead to identify the key risks you are likely to face this summer. From our analysis and risk management, two key Safety Issues include GNSS signal manipulation leading to navigation or surveillance degradation and management of fatigue. ➡ We are all in this together - Work closely across organisations, roles and job functions to help identify and mitigate risks collaboratively. Communicate effectively and check understandings to improve situational awareness. "Weather challenges remind us why aviation safety is always a top priority! 🌩️✈️ An American Airlines 737-800 faced a tough situation when it was pushed away from its gate at DFW Airport during severe weather. This highlights the unpredictable forces of nature and the importance of preparedness in aviation. 💨⚡ From ground crews to flight crews, teamwork and quick decision-making are key to ensuring safety in such conditions. Incidents like these remind us of the resilience and dedication of aviation professionals who work tirelessly to keep us safe. #AviationSafety #AviationSecurity #AviationTraining #AirlineOperator #SafetyFirst

#MYTH: Air Traffic Control is a Highly Stressful Job ❌ Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) are trained to handle busy airspace with ease. While it may seem stressful, it's like learning to drive — initially daunting, but second nature with experience. Next time you think ATC is all panic, remember: it’s skill, training, and staying calm. Our AirNav Ireland ATCOs make it look easy! 😎 #ATCMyths #AirTrafficControl #MythBusting
