Woah...I'm off to the (channel) Islands 🏝️ Some of the team from Greenwoods Legal LLP are swapping screens and teams for some IRL facetime (it's just better) with existing introducers and hopefully some new ones over the next 3 days. A whistle stop tour taking in both islands in 3 days, I think we've got about 15 meetings/breakfasts, lunches and coffees booked in so apologies in advance if I'm a bit jittery when we meet... it's definitely the excitement that comes with relationship building (nothing to do with the coffee ☕). These trips are part of a strategic focus on building relationships with strategic partners on the islands, if we don't manage to see you this time around it won't be long before we are back! In the meantime if you see me stocking up on bananas it's because the potassium offsets the caffeine... No... A location as a distinctive asset. Possible? For sure. Constellation Brands flagship beer Corona boasts the most distinctive asset any beer owns: the lime wedge in the neck of the bottle. Bar tenders all over the globe have been told 'this is how you serve a Corana'. It's a one of a kind DBA. But there's more to this branding success story. Find here the hero spot for Corona by agency MullenLowe U.S. What other elements can be seen as brand cues? I'd say... 1️⃣ logo, label and bottle design - obviously 2️⃣ the celeb (Snoop Dogg out, welcoming star actor Pedro Pascal) 3️⃣ patches of yellow in set design & props 4️⃣ the beach & deck chair setting Am I missing anything? The script of the new campaign poses some questions (like, what's up with restaurant lady? And why does the Pedro suddenly dive on a food trolley?🤔) but definitely unfolds a story of letting go and relaxing, as if you're on a beach, living La Vida Mas Fina. S and D Oyster Company Recently, I took my wife, Alice, to the S and D Oyster Company in Dallas. It is one of her favorites and, as such, I always make it part of her birthday month package. As we entered the double front doors, a lady with a big smile and sparkling eyes, held the door for us. (Alice is on a walker for balance and I am recovering from a broken back - so we appreciated the help.) When we were seated it turned out that the same lady (Dina we were to discover) was our waitress. As she came to the table, she had that same warm smile and attitude and she maintained that disposition with prompt, courteous, and competent service during our extended stay. We knew from her welcoming smile that we were going to be well attended, and we were.
