What is the moat of your business in Quick Commerce? When Deepinder was asked this question in an interview, 2 things were very clear in his mind mentioned below: 1. In businesses like Blinkit, everything can be easily replicated within 3 months — whether it's business tactics, fleet size, or additional dark stores. Larger players can pay for and take over everything, making these factors unsustainable for long-term moat-building strategies. 2. The only moat he believes can be long-lasting comes from fostering a better organizational culture and ensuring employees can continually innovate to outpace the competition. Therefore, success hinges on disrupting existing practices or risk being disrupted by superior alternatives. To date, Blinkit has not only been able to survive but thrive in such an environment with the highest market share. Hello Connections, I'm thrilled to share that I was recognized as one of the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝟰𝟮 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 out of ~86,000 teams from 3,000+ campuses across India in 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘁'𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝟴.𝟬 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲! 🎉 The case focused on Flipkart's venture into the quick commerce space. While I'm a regular user of quick commerce platforms, I hadn’t fully explored the business side of it before. It was an enriching experience where I conducted extensive research, referring to numerous research works, studies and data to understand not just the Indian Q-commerce market but also how it operates globally, exploring the key drivers and what truly delights users. ⭐ Things that worked for me are: ⭐ 1️⃣ 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 – Unlike the general approach to a strategy case, I stayed flexible in my approach and didn't stick to any specific framework. 2️⃣ 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 – Focused on understanding consumer needs, desires, and pain points. 3️⃣ 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹, 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – Aligned with the competition's goals and expectations and coming up with solutions that are not too idealistic but practical and directly address customer pain points.
