Here is an honest schedule of a breastfeeding CMO day at the Flo Health Inc. London office: 🕘 09.00 Arrived at the building, got lost in the office as it’s Day 1 in our new pad 🗣️ 09.15 Was talking to colleagues and checking email/Slack 👥 10.30 Had weekly 1:1 with Dmitry Gurski discussing my crazy medical ideas for advancing Flo’s vision 💪🏼 🍼 11.00 Turned out to be the first to try a brand new room for pumping milk. Thank you Irina Pristrom for arranging everything. 🎀 13.00 Ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new Flo office with Ann Roberts and Roman Bugaev. We are all super excited to have a new and bigger space for the team to get together and collaborate. 🔬 14.00 Worked with Yella Hewings-Martin, our Senior research scientist, on Flo science comms projects. 🍼 16.00 Pumped milk again Skipped the afterparty to be at home before my kids went to bed. Balancing career and motherhood is challenging. I am not a superwoman - its the supportive environment at Flo that makes it possible. Mothers in my network How do you navigate feeding your baby (while working)? Is your work environment helping or not? #FemaleLeadership #WorkLifeBalance #TeamCollaboration
Thanks for sharing. 💖 Indeed, it was a challenge. I remember being able to do it during daily syncs, even with the camera turned on. But that small hand could give me away at any moment...
Powerful sharing! I believe it helps to normalize breastfeeding and give women more comfort in their day-to-day activities (including career) without being excluded from society. I used both: the breastfeeding pillow during my work (remote) and pumping to switch feeding with my husband if I need more continuous focus time. I think remote work helps a lot, colleagues who wait for you to come back after your delivery, and the infrastructure around the city you live in (the office you work in). Also, a positive atmosphere around public breastfeeding in your surroundings.
What beautiful sharing Anna. I have sweet (and somewhat terrifying memories) of nursing my baby on the back seat of a corporate plane with the CEO a few seats in front of me many years ago. We need to normalize these moments and make it much easier for women to navigate them.
Love this! We're fortunate to be so valued in our roles and supported to work flexibly/with breast pumps in tow/screaming toddlers or barking dogs in the background 😂 . This is the reality of our life and it doesn't hold us back from what we love doing.
Even though I haven't had a baby while working at Flo, my youngest was 9 months old when I started. The incredible flexibility, support, and excellent role models at Flo make it possible to achieve a great balance between family and work. The recent family picnic was a fantastic addition to this; my kids loved it.
Love this- and I think you ARE a superwoman!
Anna Klepchukova you're my hero :)
Thanks for sharing! It's a challenge. I will say some of the new hands free devices help a lot!

2moIn 2022, when I found out I was pregnant, you were the first person I shared the news with! Deep down, I was worried about the same thing every woman worries about: how to care for a small baby and have a successful career. You showed me it's all possible! Today, I am the mom of an energetic 1-year-old and a full-time worker. A big shout-out to all the full-time moms at Flo. We are a great example that we can have it all if we are in the right place. ❤️
