In preparation for your ambulatory phlebectomy varicose vein removal treatment, your vascular specialist will outline the varicose veins with a marker while you are standing up. The reason for this is that once you lay down, the bulging veins may not be as apparent. During the ambulatory phlebectomy procedure, bulging veins that remain after treating the deeper veins, are physically removed. Tiny incisions will be made where the varicose veins are marked. Then your vascular specialist will gently hook the veins, and pull them out. This varicose vein removal procedure is virtually painless, takes less than an hour, and is performed right in our office.
