Let’s talk about slavery! Let’s talk about prison labor as modern slavery. Then let’s talk about organizations that promote modern slavery with stories like this. They do this to convince people in the community that they are doing good work. This companies annual budget for SLAVE LABOR is around $200k for over 14,000 people annually. While the likes of their staff are budgeted for over $2.3 MILLION for salary. THIS IS SLAVERY! We have families on food stamps, welfare, kids left home without a parent to watch them, the states bleeding money for helping families pay bills…but none of the people who work for OCE can pay child support, they can’t send money to struggling spouses. We incarcerate parents and make them work for slave wages. Then we turn around and tell the families and kids left behind that they should be on welfare or food stamps because we, Oregon, as a state believe that it is better served that we provide food stamps and welfare instead of fair wages and child support.
