As we approach the end of 2023, it's time to reflect on our role in a world full of complexity and uncertainty. Success has become the ultimate objective, leading to a model of Dominance and Subservience. But it's time for a change. We need to start by being authentic, doing what we love and what we're good at, and ultimately having that feeling of joy, happiness, and freedom that fuels us, representing real SUCCESS.
Recently, I watched a TED talk by BJ Miller, and it's probably the best one I've ever seen. Miller suggests a different perspective towards death as the best opportunity to live better and happier. By learning to stop worrying about death and making it instead a reason to live fully, we can make a real difference in our own lives, our families, our teams, our company, and the world. Miller teaches us that some suffering will happen, but we shouldn't accept system-generated suffering where we can act. We should value the use of each and all our senses as the best opportunity to connect with others and with nature.

Have you heard of the babble effect? Or experienced this in the workplace?
Seeing this and reflecting on my experience, I have both 'babbled and been witness to babble'
I have a tendency to have answers ahead of others and have the need to jump to solutions. While seeming efficient to be ahead of others thinking, it can also hinder hearing diverse perspectives and stifle the growth of others.
Being two steps ahead is valuable, but reminding myself to leave space for others to contribute fosters richer dialogue, innovative solutions and makes me a better leader.
