Thrilled to announce that I've secured second place in the Inter-University Data Structures and Algorithms Competition! DECODE 2024. This rigorous contest challenged participants from top universities across the country, testing our ability to design efficient algorithms and optimize complex data structures. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, pushing me to: • Developed a novel approach to a particularly challenging NP-hard problem, reducing its time complexity significantly. • Collaborated with and competed against some of the brightest minds in computer science. • Strengthened my skills in critical thinking, time management, and performing under pressure. • Gained deeper insights into cutting-edge DSA concepts and their real-world applications. #DSA #AlgorithmicExcellence #ComputerScience #UniversityAchievement #CodingCompetition #TechTalent

AI/SWE Senior | Accessible NLP Applications | Research/Teaching Assistant & Tutor at Brock University
Very excited to be back with the Brock Computer Science Club (ACM Student Chapter) for another guest workshop - designed for anyone in any field! "Crafting Effective Conversations" is a prompt engineering workshop designed for ANYONE - degree agnostic! As the prevalence of ChatGPT and other similar chat-based Large Language Models booms in scale, more and more users are leveraging these tools for various applications, from study sets to bored questions to research. It has consequently become critical that users understand how to prompt smarter, more efficiently, and with a heightened concern for the quality of the information they seek to retrieve. Prompt engineering has emerged as a discipline of utmost importance - but we can still do our part to demystify it! Participants will learn about the nuances of human dialogue, techniques such as in-context learning and how they relate to dialogue, and will apply recent industry advancements to craft smarter questions. In the second half of the workshop, participants will compete in the "Flex Your Prompt" competition - given a "training" set of questions, they will learn to develop prompts that tightly adhere to a set of given guidelines, and will receive feedback from their peers on how to prompt smarter! I invite all my peers, colleagues, and friends in the Brock University area to register, come out, and witness just how easy it is to leverage these tools intelligently - it's an in-demand skill that as many people should have as possible! ** Virtual accommodations can be made upon request - just send me a message! Associate Professor of Digital Learning at Dublin City University. Interested in how and why we learn, online, offline and everywhere in between. How do we make those spaces better ones in which to teach, learn and live?
Abstract: "In this presentation, I start from perhaps a provocative position: qualitative coding—the most common, default qualitative analysis methodology—isn’t rigorous enough to help us answer our most pressing (and most interesting) research questions. This isn’t an argument to abandon qualitative research. Instead, it’s an invitation to seek after, practice, and teach other, more rigorous, qualitative methods—methods that are capable of accomplishing our goal to better understand our current and historical forms of human life. Join me in this presentation—especially if you disagree with my position!—to learn more and contribute your thoughts to an important conversation."
