💻#LinkedIn Tips: You don’t need an image taken by a professional, BUT it should look professional. ✔️Don't overcomplicate it: Find a blank background facing a natural light source, look at the camera and smile! ✔️Make sure you are appropriately dressed and not at a party or a wedding. ✔️Don’t use an image where you have to crop other people out. ✔️Lastly, according to LinkedIn, you should aim for your face to take up about 60% of the photo once it’s cropped. #flowtalent #careers #recruitment #jobseekertips

Are you smiling in your LinkedIn photo? A study found that people who smile in their LinkedIn picture are 14% more likely to be invited to an interview compared to the rest. This suggests that first impressions, even in the form of profile picture plays a vital role in the initial stages of the hiring process. This shows how the small signals we send without speaking can still affect how companies pick people when they're hiring online. So what are you waiting for? Smile please :) #onlinerecruitment #firstimpressions #Nonverbalcues

FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT and LinkedIn profile pages are probably your first impression in the professional world. Here's a few tips to optimise your page. Some might seem obvious but I've seen enough pages to know that the scale is vast! 1️⃣ Your profile picture should be a decent resolution/quality, colour and ideally include your face. Doesn't need to be super corporate or a mug-shot style photo, but colour photos including your face are likely to receive significantly more views (20x) and connection requests (8x) 2️⃣ Take advantage of the background photo. It's more banner shaped but a chance for your to display something related to your personality, passions, interests or something more business aligned. 3️⃣ Use your 'Headline'! This is a good chance to drop a few key words related to your experience that will come up in searches. It's also a chance to add a little more personality to your profile. 4️⃣ Share your LinkedIn Recommendations! (Also, make sure you get them!) Often buried at the bottom on a profile, these offer great insight into your professional relationships and really add credibility. #cvtips #interviewadvice #recruitment
