One thing that is unique to baseball, at least among the big 4 American sports, is it has no time constraints. Each team is allotted 27 outs. This means that it is never physically or mathematically impossible for a losing team to come back and win the game, regardless of how improbable. The unpredictability of baseball, the possibility of a big inning happening no matter how steep the odds, the suspense of a game that is going down to the last out; those all (and so much more) bring the sport's magic front-and-center.
