The 30th edition of CORCON, Asia’s largest corrosion conference organized by the AMPP India Chapter, was held at the Chennai Trade Centre, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and innovators from around the globe. Shri H. Shankar, Director (Technical) and Managing Director I/C of CPCL, presided over as the Chief Guest and delivered an insightful plenary address. He highlighted the profound economic and environmental impact of corrosion, emphasizing the carbon emissions associated with the energy-intensive production of materials needed to replace corroded assets. He also detailed CPCL’s proactive measures in corrosion mitigation, including advanced monitoring systems, material upgrades and strategic partnerships with premier research institutions which has led to development of an innovative corrosion mitigation solution. Reliance Industries Secures 10 GWh ACC Battery Storage Capacity Under PLI Scheme 🔋 Reliance Industries Ltd has been awarded a 10 GWh Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery storage capacity under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. This move significantly supports India's goal of self-reliance in battery manufacturing, reducing dependency on imports. The PLI scheme, with a budget of ₹3,620 crore, saw bids from seven companies, including Reliance Industries. After a rigorous evaluation process based on Quality and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS), Reliance emerged as the successful bidder with the highest overall score.
