🚨 E-Scooters in Europe: Stricter Regulations—Are They the Answer? 🚨 A recent trend in European cities is the adoption of stricter regulations for shared e-scooter services. Policymakers believe this will lead to better oversight and improved service quality for citizens. However, our new report, "Shared e-scooter regulations and their impact on European cities," reveals a compelling alternative. 📊 Our research, analyzing 155 cities, demonstrates that lighter and medium regulatory models, including Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and authorization regimes, can be just as effective. ✅ Here's a breakdown of the regulatory categories we studied: - Light Regulation: 20% - Open markets and markets with standard regulations. - Medium Regulation: 46% - Authorization regimes. - High Regulation: 34% - Public tenders. These lighter and medium models empower cities to maintain control and ensure service quality while effectively meeting the needs of their citizens and political stakeholders. Download the full report to learn more about the effectiveness of various regulatory approaches and how they can shape a sustainable future for European mobility! 🌍🛴 📖 [Read the full report here] https://lnkd.in/eiiGEHKX Michael Flynn Sebastiaan Boschmans Wouter de Wit Nina Neubauer Bianca Melodia Oliver Parsons-Baker 🚶♀️🚲🛴🛵🚍🚇🚊 🚶♀️🚲🛴🛵🚍🚇🚊 #UrbanMobility #EScooters #Sustainability #SmartCities #DeloitteInsights #PublicTransport #MobilityInnovation #Deloitte #ITRG
