Betwa River The Betwa River originates from the Vindhya Range, which is located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Specifically, it originates near the town of Bhopalpatnam in the Hoshangabad district. The river flows northeastward through Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, covering a total distance of approximately 590 kilometers before it eventually merges with the Yamuna River near Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh. The Betwa River is a significant waterway in central India, sustaining agriculture, providing water for irrigation, and supporting local communities along its banks. The Betwa River of India is a lifeline for biodiversity in the regions it traverses, offering vital habitats for a myriad of wildlife species. Its riparian zones support a diverse array of flora and fauna, providing shelter, breeding grounds, and sustenance for mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
