Biofabrication, the cutting-edge technology that creates three-dimensional living tissue structures, holds immense promise for regenerative medicine. 🦴 🤔But how do we maintain shape fidelity while allowing cell proliferation? Researchers from the Izmir Institute of Technology, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, and Technische Universität Dresden recently tackled this challenge. I felt flattered to have been a part of the project team that collaborated with Thermo Fisher Scientific to develop a game-changing camera for cryo-electron microscopes. "In February 2020, cryo-EM researchers determined the structure of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and its cellular receptor during infection using the Thermo Scientific Krios Cryo-TEM.
