Thoughts after travelling solo I firmly believe that it is imperative for each and every individual to embark on a solitary expedition at least once in their lifetime. Venture towards a destination that has captivated your senses through the medium of television, and ascertain whether it lives up to the grandeur you have envisioned. Engage with individuals from diverse walks of life, those whom you would never have the opportunity to encounter had you remained confined within the boundaries of your own nation. Challenge your self-reliance, for in this realm, no one shall be your confidant, yet simultaneously, everyone shall be your confidant. Unleash a version of yourself that has perpetually resided within the depths of your aspirations, yet has been restrained by the fear of judgment. Witness firsthand the extent of your capabilities when you stand alone, unaided. Embrace the overwhelming magnitude that life has to offer, and absorb every facet of its existence, both the favorable and the unfavorable. Comprehend that your existence extends far beyond the confines of your comprehension, and that a solitary flight ticket shall serve as your inaugural stride towards glimpsing the vastness that awaits you. #travelgoals #solotravel #dubailife #onceinalifetime #selfdiscoveryjourney

Absolutely, the analogy of sailing through life's challenges is quite powerful. It emphasizes the importance of resilience, adaptability, and determination in facing obstacles. Just like skilled sailors maneuver through stormy seas, we too can navigate through difficult times by staying focused and resilient. Gibbon's recounting of the siege of Constantinople beautifully illustrates this concept of turning obstacles into opportunities through skillful navigation and determination.

In April, I lead a group of 12 strangers on an adventure motorcyle excursion through some of the most remote regions of Nepal. Without a guide and facing numerous challenges, we navigated them as a team, had a life-changing experience, and immersed ourselves in the local culture while making a positive impact along the way. These excursions are more than thrilling rides - they are crash courses in leadership with rapid feedback loops - filled with challenges, discomfort, personalities, and uncertainty. There’s no easy way out, forcing you to become hyper-aware and grow as a leader to ensure your team’s success and safety. Here are some key leadership lessons I learned, some through success, some through failure: • Preparation is vital, but positioning your team ultimately leads to success. • Identify key factors that impact success and have contingency plans. • Make the tough call. Indecisiveness crushes your team’s confidence. • Build personal bonds with your teammates. Their voluntary support in difficult times shows it’s working. • In emergencies, your control diminishes. Contingency plans and diverse perspectives from teammates are crucial. • Pose a problem to the group, then watch them create a solution. Recap in context of the goal and execute. • Bonus life lesson - We are incredibly fortunate. Count your blessings and help others. We had a talented videographer with us. Here’s his perspective on our adventure:

Oracle's unified SaaS suite helps customers to modernise, innovate 💡 & improve 📈 ⏱️ 💷 🤖 their Finance, HR, ESG, Customer Experience & supply chain functions.
To paraphrase the old Chinese saying we are indeed living in very interesting times. Considering that a mere 12 months ago, most people had never heard the term #generativeai however, #artificialintelligence is already front and centre within Oracle's strategy for the entire Oracle Cloud suite. #generativeai #artificialintelligence #chinesenewyear #oracleconsulting
