M.JOTHI HELICOPTER IS ARTICLE On a helicopter, the main rotor or rotor system is the combination of several rotary wings (rotor blades) with a control system, that generates the aerodynamic lift force that supports the weight of the helicopter, and the thrust that counteracts aerodynamic drag in forward flight. Each main rotor is mounted on a vertical mast over the top of the helicopter, as opposed to a helicopter tail rotor, which connects through a combination of drive shaft(s) and gearboxes along the tail boom. The blade pitch is typically controlled by the pilot using the helicopter flight controls. Helicopters are one example of rotary-wing aircraft (rotorcraft). The coolness of #RVSM Airspace and perfection of navigational systems of modern aircrafts. Context: While flying in Santamaria Oceanic Airspace, leaving Lisboa FIR (Flight Information Region), we where at FL390 (39.000ft = 11.900 km), another airplane flew just 1.000ft above us (300m). This is perfectly fine and RVSM airspace objective is precisely that: more airplanes flying together under safe procedures, everything monitored by air traffic controllers, pilots and navigational systems such as #GPS and #IRS. In any case, pilots are very well trained to do #TCAS evasive manuevers (Traffic colission avoidance system).

Reduced vertical separation minimum (RVSM) is the reduction, from 2,000 feet to 1,000 feet, of the standard vertical separation required between aircraft flying between flight level 290 (29,000 ft) and flight level 410 (41,000 ft). This reduction in vertical separation minimum therefore increases the number of aircraft that can fly in a particular volume of controlled airspace. 📹: Porttownsend
