STCW Sea Survival Techniques is often our customers favorite part of the STCW course. But what is it and why do our customers do it? 🌊 What is STCW? 🌊 STCW stands for Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping. All crew joining a commercial vessel must complete STCW Basic Safety Training Course. If you are going to be working at sea, it is essential to have an understanding of how to handle emergencies onboard. 🌊 What does STCW Include? 🌊 Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities Proficiency in Security Awareness Sea Survival Techniques Elementary First Aid Training is split between classroom sessions and practical, hands-on skills and practical exercises. You will learn how to use the safety equipment onboard a vessel, from breathing apparatus to life rafts. 🌊 What jobs could it lead to? 🌊 Most of our STCW students are looking to work on a superyacht. The STCW course forms part of our Stewardess and Deckhand 2-week courses, which give you all the skills, knowledge, certification and confidence to join the industry. The STCW course can also be booked independently, these customers are usually aspiring for a superyacht chef or cruise ship career. 🌊 How long does it last? 🌊 The STCW certificate is valid for 5 years, then fire fighting and sea survival need to be freshed to revalidate the whole certificate. We deliver refresher courses and always love to catch up with course graduates who are now thriving in the industry.
