We are delighted that FIL has been trusted to build the first mock-up for our repeat client Laing O'Rourke for Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford in Oxford. This exciting project involves creating an off-site mock ups in Laing O'Rourkes facility in Oxford, which will set the benchmark for detailing, interfaces and quality. Our team is proud to continue a strong relationship with Laing O'Rourke, and we look forward to delivering further projects. #FlynnInteriors #Construction #OffSiteConstruction #LaingORourke #Oxford

Problem solving at Cannan Lane ⬇️ Today, we're throwing it back to our work transforming the site of former public conveniences in the Morningside area of Edinburgh into a new five storey residential building, with a natural sandstone facade. The site's location and our choice of construction materials were both key considerations that required careful thought and planning to make this regeneration project a success. Take a closer look at how we tackled these challenges below... 📍 Project: Canaan Lane 🤝 Client: Rennick Property (Andrew Rennick) 🤔 Issue: Derelict public toilets on site of potential new homes in highly populated area of Edinburgh. Challenging site with a tenement on one side and new build house on the other - access was a key issue. Challenges of working with timber is the initial shrinkage and the design team had to carefully consider the detailing prior to the build. 💡 Solution: Demolishing toilets. Creating a five-storey apartment block which (unusually) was constructed from a timber frame. Detailed planning had to be taken to manage site access issues and potential disruption. Carefully considered detailing prior to the build. #engineering #solutions #construction #realisewhatspossible

In the ever-evolving realm of commercial construction, where major considerations include durability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness, Southern Pine emerges as a dependable option for projects. Its strength, versatility, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and aesthetic appeal make it a go-to choice for builders and architects alike. Prepare compare visuals of your projects for stakeholder meetings by using our compare tool, clients can view before-and-after images to see the extent of progress made. Find out how to here: http://evr.cm/compare
We know just how quickly progress is being made on site, but it's always satisfying to see it in the blink of an eye. 👀 Our Evercam - Construction Visibility shots from March last year, compared to just last week show how far teams have come in little over twelve months. 🏗 Both buildings have shot up. 🏗 The bridge was installed last November - connecting both buildings seamlessly. 🏗 The facade is almost complete - around 1,000 intricately designed aluminium and glass panels have already been fitted to the exterior of The Forum, each weighing about 500kg. Teams are now installing cappings, final technical interfaces and doors. Keep an eye out on site and across our socials for more updates. Kier Construction | Gloucester City Council

Urban downtowns are sometimes called concrete jungles because the apartments and office buildings that make up skylines from New York to Vancouver are generally made of — what else? — concrete. But that could change with a push underway to build more tall buildings with another material: mass timber. Mass timber is an umbrella category of materials made by binding layers of wood together to create larger, stronger elements like panels and beams. Proponents say it's faster and easier to build with than concrete and steel, and less carbon-intensive to boot. If concrete and steel are the Coke and Pepsi of highrise construction, mass timber has so far been more of a generic-brand cola. Mass timber made up just one per cent of all building construction materials in North America in 2022, according to an RBC report. https://lnkd.in/ehNtw7wN

The latest Skyroom update!
Despite copious amounts of rain over the past few weeks construction of the Skyroom is progressing nicely. The access road is graded and has gravel to allow for easier deliveries. Drains around the site are in and the grading of the building site is complete with gravel down. Once the rain stops it will be time to pour the foundation and then the steel frame that has been on site will go up relatively quickly. Stay tuned for further updates. Thanks again to HMD Construction & Development, Hauch Design, PLLC and for Preston Montague our landscape architect for keeping the project moving along.

🚧 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙚𝙬𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙖’𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙚! 🚧 🔹 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙖’𝙨 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜: The Brookhaven City Centre project, a 58,250-square-foot structure, has topped out! Built by a joint venture between McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. and Barnsley Construction Group, this $78 million project is the only government facility in Georgia with mass timber as the main material. 🔹 𝙈𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞-𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨: Beyond housing the new city hall for Brookhaven, it features a rooftop garden, city council chambers, administrative offices, a catering kitchen, and support spaces for public use. About 60% of this space will be accessible to the general public. 🔹 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙩𝙮: Constructing with mass timber brought unique challenges, from specialized loading logistics to positioning and manoeuvring large wood panels. However, the benefits of mass timber’s flexibility and environmental impact make it all worthwhile! What do you think about using mass timber in public buildings? Could it be the future for more municipal projects in Georgia? 🌲 #ConstructionInnovation #MassTimber #AtlantaBuilding

What do a period cottage, a 16th century pub, and a disused defensive fort all have in common? They’re all buildings changed, converted and transformed by Hawes Construction Group. A historical building renovation or conversion isn’t a task to be taken on lightly. You’ll never quite know what you’ll find (the pub, for example, had no foundations at the rear and was riddled with asbestos!). Yet with the experience of a team like us on hand, you can rest assured everything’s handled compliantly, sensitively and carefully – transforming the building to preserve history and create your contemporary vision. Take a look at these projects for yourself and see what challenges we overcame in our blog post: https://lnkd.in/edXuJ4tP #PropertyRennovation #HistoricalBuildingConversion #BuildingRennovation

Today's objective: Clearing out and constructing a brick pier. 🧱 With a shared wall with the neighbour , which is still a council property currently empty, it's the perfect timing for the renovation! Besides the main goal, another important reason is that there's an old landfill site just half a mile away, so we need to remove this structure promptly. #Brickie #Bricklaying #Construction #PropertyRenovation #RenovationGoals #SustainableDevelopment #planning #RenovationGoals #TWMHDevelopments #ProjectManagement
