Update on West Hall! We're thrilled to share that we will be wrapping up work on the West Hall, part of the Olympia Redevelopment in Kensington this week on behalf of Laing O'Rourke. After eight weeks of hard work and dedication, our amazing team has been at it day and night, using scaffolding, towers, and MEWPs to tackle high-level services, and complete temporary works. During this time, we've successfully installed an impressive 1,500m² of double-layered fermacell® partitions and linings, along with acoustic and fire encasements around the primary steelwork. We're happy to report that the buffer walls have already shown fantastic results in our initial acoustic tests. Our acoustician couldn’t be more pleased, calling the installation ‘the best he has ever seen’! A huge shoutout to Marijus Cibulskis and Shkelqim Kukaj for their outstanding supervision of safety and quality throughout this project with Rob Laffan overseeing as Project Manager and our Quantity Surveyor Lauren Flack handling the commercials 🙌 #WestHall #ConstructionUpdate #TeamWork #AcousticExcellence #Flynninteriors

Case Study: Liverpool Waterfront Façade Investigation 🌟 Heightsafe successfully tackled a complex façade investigation on a notable building at the Liverpool waterfront. In partnership with a local access company, we engineered a detailed access plan to handle delicate materials and specific weight limits. Our team expertly used a SK200 side lifter with a vacuum sucker to manage the graphite panels, weighing 165kg each. Intrusive works were carried out from a Bronto Skylift S-XR, which allowed us to reach up to 47 meters high. Challenges arose when it was found that the panels were not installed according to the building's O&M manuals, prompting immediate method adjustments and a dynamic risk assessment to maintain project safety and integrity. Over three days, strategic positioning of the crane and Skylift enabled a thorough examination of the building’s intricate façade. Following the investigation, Heightsafe produced a detailed condition report for the client, highlighting construction defects for resolution with the main contractor. Read more about how we ensure building safety and adapt to unexpected challenges. Moving the camera around the site to capture the different aspects of your construction project is a good way to produce a more interesting video. Some aspects are that quick that you can always move the camera back to the main position (e.g. wide shot) after the event (e.g. installation of cladding) #constructiontimelapse

Things aren’t always PERFECT the first time around. Once we drop in installations like this one, it’s important to check for small details that we will go back to make it absolutely perfect the second time around. This is why it’s great to keep in mind what your timelines are in advance and stay in communication with your contractor! . . . #tomak #construction #constructiontips #nyccontractor #generalcontractor #nyc #newyork

Keeping within budget can get tricky. A small #windowcleaning sub is being held responsible for 170 damaged windows on this new, #RestonVA project. Kudos to him for taking responsibility (although it doesn't seem like there was much of a choice). Although there are many scratches on each lite, the GC (Clark Construction Group) identified specific areas of concern based on their application of industry standards for glass acceptance. Ordinarily I am not involved at this point, but setting a budget and understanding the ROM was essential for the cleaning sub. Our job now: - Restore only the identified areas - Leave surrounding glass untouched - Keep within budget Each identified area is taped off while we repair and blend our work. It's another level of meticulous(ness)? but we're up for the challenge. ***** Magic Touch, Inc. Try as we may, we couldn’t find the origins of the beam signing tradition, but we do like the symbolism involved. A beam signing ceremony is a construction tradition that marks a milestone in a building project by allowing attendees to sign the final steel beam before it's installed. The project team, future owners of the building, and others involved in the project leave their permanent mark on the building. The ceremony symbolizes progress, unity, and the start of a new phase. The image used is with the permission of Miron Construction Co., Inc. If you would like to learn more, look at Miron Construction’s article about the topping-out ceremony. https://lnkd.in/eVKrGtVC

📌 Project Update 📌 Stoke Specialist Surveys proved their expertise once again, braving a cold, windy, and wet morning in Stoke to conduct a thorough examination of the roofs at an apartment site. Their mission: to gather vital measures and information for estimating purposes! Although a drone survey could have been an option due to the building's complexity and multiple levels, the team recognized the importance of a hands-on approach. Sometimes, only a close inspection can provide the precise measurements and valuable insights required. 👷♂️ Initially, the roof levels were not a concern for the ongoing construction project. However, as work progressed on the cladding, issues emerged. This serves as a reminder that even when focusing on a large-scale project, no aspect should be overlooked, regardless of its visibility... A Vinci Construction Grands Projets technology, technically challenging but also exciting
A giant cantilever structure, used in the UK for the first time, has built the first section of our 472 metre River Tame West Viaducts. The structure has been built, using a 22-metre-high mast, including temporary post-tensioning cable stays and a 14-metre-high swivel crane. The crane lifts and installs one concrete segment into place at a time, eventually completing each 45-metre span length. The permanent post-tensioning tendons are then stressed to allow the removal of the temporary cable stays, leaving the permanent structure securely in place. The same process is repeated between each pier until all the spans are complete. Find out more: https://gloo.to/F8kE #Engineering #Construction #Viaduct Balfour Beatty VINCI
