𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱-𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 ✈️ Norse Atlantic Airways recorded its highest-ever load factor in a month, achieving 92% in November 2024, a 31-percentage point increase from 61% in the same month the year before. The Company operated 352 flights and transported 94,612 passengers across its network and ACMI/ charter operations, a 94% increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year. 78% of the flights departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time, with a 100% flight completion rate achieved. 64% of the flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time, with negative impacts from air traffic control (ATC) restrictions and airport-related challenges. ACMI/charter services saw substantial growth, with 128 flights operated in November 2024 compared to four flights in November 2023.

The Air Traffic Navigation Services (ATNS) is a critical institution when it comes to the safety of air-travellers, along with the efficient management of airline traffic throughout South Africa. If they drop the ball and begin to falter on due processes required of them, their actions (or inaction) can have a devastating impact on air travel in SA. Well, that's precisely what has happened over the past months. While Air Canada (AC.TO) and WestJet saw more planes land on time in 2024, Canada's two largest airlines were still the lowest ranked when it came to on-time performance among North America's biggest carriers. That's according to aviation analytics firm Cirium, which released its annual on-time performance report of global airlines on Thursday.
