Have you ever overslept for something important and woke up in a panic? Well, that was me a few weeks ago, set to attend a crucial training session in Stavanger. Thanks to my habit of planning ahead, the only thing that saved my day from disaster was the taxi I’d booked the night before. The driver’s call was my unexpected alarm clock! With just 10 minutes to get ready, my morning turned into a whirlwind of rushing around—clothes flying off hangers, shoes mismatched, and no time for even a sip of coffee. It felt like a scene out of a hectic movie. I rushed out the door, made it to the taxi, and sped off towards the airport, barely making my flight. This rush reminded me why we, especially as executive and management assistants, always need to plan ahead. It’s not just about keeping our schedules tight but being prepared for those unexpected moments that life throws at us. So, to all the executive and management assistants out there, and anyone else juggling a packed schedule: how do you stay prepared for the unexpected? #executiveassistant #managementsupport #priorities

From hotel reception to fleet coordination - my journey taught me customer service is universal. The smile that greets a guest? It's the same one that reassures an anxious driver. My diverse background has shown me: 1. Active listening is key, whether it's a room complaint or a route concern. 2. Anticipating needs saves time and builds trust. 3. Clear communication prevents misunderstandings, in any language. Recently, I've been applying these lessons to streamline our fleet operations. Result? Happier drivers, satisfied clients, and smoother deliveries. What unexpected skills from your past job have proven valuable in your current role? #CustomerService #FleetManagement #ProfessionalGrowth OMV OMV Petrom OMV Gas

Stop Work Authority at Camin Cargo! 👷♂️ At Camin Cargo, we believe that safety isn’t just a priority - it’s a value that drives everything we do. One of the most essential tools in our safety toolkit is Stop Work Authority (SWA). SWA is the empowerment of every team member, regardless of rank or role, to stop any task if they believe there’s a potential safety risk. Whether it's an unsafe condition, incorrect procedure, or even just a gut feeling, SWA gives you the power to speak up and take action before an incident occurs. 5 Essential Tips for SWA: • Trust Your instincts: If something feels off or unsafe, don’t hesitate to pause the work. Gut feelings can be a valuable early warning sign. • Communicate Clearly: When invoking SWA, be clear and direct in communicating the concern to your team. Ensure everyone understands the reason for the stop. • Evaluate the Situation: Take time to assess the issue fully, considering both immediate hazards and potential risks that may not be obvious at first. • Seek Input: Don’t be afraid to ask for help or a second opinion. Collaboration often leads to the best solutions in ensuring safety. • Resume Safely: Ensure that all risks are mitigated and safety measures are in place before proceeding with the task. By using SWA, we prevent accidents before they happen, foster a culture of accountability, and empower every team member to be a guardian of safety. At Camin Cargo, we encourage everyone to actively use their Stop Work Authority to promote open communication, collaboration, and continuous learning, improving our safety protocols and creating a safer, smarter, and more resilient workplace for all! #SafetyFirst #StopWorkAuthority #CaminCargo #SafetyCulture #Teamwork #ContinuousImprovement

Meet Dispatcher Lobsang Choephel, who like many of our employees has found opportunity to learn and grow throughout his career at Metro Transit. Want to work somewhere you can create your own path? We’re hiring! https://lnkd.in/gQSUVTb5 How did you begin your career with Metro Transit? After my parents fled Tibet, I immigrated to the United States in 1992. I attempted to join Metro Transit in 1996 but wasn’t successful. After gaining experience, including at a hotel and in patient transportation, I applied again and was thrilled to finally pursue my passion for driving a city bus. What were your career goals and what steps did you take to achieve them? My primary goal has always been to drive and train others in transit. After starting as a bus operator, I aimed to expand my responsibilities. In 2009, I successfully transitioned into a train operator role. At rail, I became a relief instructor, which allowed me to share knowledge and learn from my students. I also noticed an opening for a relief dispatch position and applied, passing the tests. By continuously seeking new opportunities and being open to different roles, I was able to advance. And it helps to be dedicated to your work. I recently received a 10-year safe driving award at Ovations. What advice do you have for others who want to take on more responsibilities or different responsibilities? Be open to trying new things and to stepping outside your comfort zone. I often tell colleagues that, just like tasting different foods, you won’t know if you like something unless you give it a try. If you start in one role, explore others within the organization, as there are many chances to advance and learn new skills.

For an airport operations professional, each day presents a new challenge and the race against time remains a constant factor. There is always a narrow window to complete operational activities to ensure on-time flight departures. Airport managers should do the following: Comprehensive Planning: Develop detailed plans to manage day to day operations and address any emerging situations efficiently. Staff Training and Preparedness: Train and prepare staff to handle Irregular Operations (IROPs) effectively, minimizing the impact on subsequent flights. Resource Management: Plan human resources and equipment to manage daily operations and ensure their availability during IROPs.

From Baggage Handler to Business Leader: Part 1 Starting as a baggage handler with the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) was not the most glamorous job, but it was my first step into the professional world. The work was physically demanding, often involving long hours and strenuous labor, but I was determined to make the best of it. I quickly realized that to advance, I needed to go above and beyond. I made it a point to understand the entire operation, not just my role. I volunteered for additional tasks, learned about logistics, and built relationships with my colleagues and supervisors. My dedication and keen interest did not go unnoticed. I was soon promoted to a supervisory position, where I could apply my growing knowledge to streamline processes and improve efficiency. My relentless drive and innovative approach propelled me through the ranks at NAHCO. Within a few years, I had earned the title of manager, becoming the youngest person to hold such a position in the company's history. It was a significant achievement, a testament to my hard work and strategic thinking. Yet, despite my contributions and the positive changes I implemented, recognition and appreciation were hard to come by. The lack of acknowledgment for my efforts was disheartening. Realizing I had reached a ceiling at NAHCO, I made the difficult decision to move on. I joined the oil and gas sector (DGM). This new industry was a vast departure from aviation, but it offered fresh challenges and opportunities. In this role, I honed my selling skills, learning the intricacies of the market and building a robust network of clients and industry contacts. To be continued...
