I joined Statsig later than I hoped, but I still saw its three-year journey. 2020 was important for me. I became a better data scientist -- effective, pragmatic, and ironically, "are right, a lot" -- one of Amazon's leadership principles that I found most puzzling.  A big reason was building the conviction of the value of data through AB testing. After 6 years in PhD and 2 years at Amazon, I doubted if data really helped businesses. At Facebook, I learned it does. I used data to make key decisions and prove them with experiments. Such conviction is still paying dividends today. Facebook's AB testing tool was great, but I couldn't talk about it much. It was internal. When Vijaye R. started a company to make a similar tool, I interviewed him (https://lnkd.in/gGRqTjRg) and asked for a demo (https://lnkd.in/gnA_cjpy). Rewatching it today, you will find that the product has matured a LOT, but the technical insights and the mission remain the same. I believed in this business a lot, maybe more than most of the founding members. This tool needs to be built, and they're the right people for it. I wished them luck and continued my journey. Two years later, with all the learning and growth, I was back. It almost felt like gravity. Because Statsig is about the mission all along -- make data useful.

Thrilling Thursdays are a special time at Inside Out | DGA when we dedicate 30 minutes to unwind, connect with our team, and engage in friendly competition through games like Pictionary, lip-reading contests, blindfold drawing, guessing childhood cartoons, logo guessing contests, and many more. While we used to enjoy these activities sporadically, consistency was lacking. In any organization, especially in digital marketing, consistency is key. Thanks to our colleagues Vinya and Sonika, and the active participation of everyone - for completing/planning tasks so as to win a 30 min stress-free time. Thrilling Thursdays have become a regular and eagerly anticipated event. Great session today completing TeamTeach day 1 with a lovely bunch of carers from Pebbles Care. We spoke in depth about our ideal perfect homes and how we would want our own loved ones to be cared for. We created a tree with all of those things we wanted within the home, but also looked at things (questionable snails and slugs) that could hinder our idealistic tree. The idea is that if we can identify those factors that can damage our tree we can be proactive in creating plans to reduce the impact (pellets). Some great examples such as: - Building a pool of really reliable agency carers that we can use who have already built relationships with our young people reducing our young people’s anxiety around new people. - Creating support plans to help carers with training and education. - Have valuable team meetings to share successes to boost care teams morale and having openness and transparency to promote areas of development. The more we can do this within our homes, the longer our homes will remain a safe haven for our young people and care teams. Thank you all for your contribution, days like today really gives me hope for the happy futures of young people.

The focus is more on who they are as people instead of their resume. Here you might find their go-to karaoke song or a story on their most memorable meals. Because as we know and acknowledge, we are more than our jobs. ✏️ HANDWRITTEN NOTES: The power of a handwritten note remains unparalleled. While some may dismiss it as cheesy, there's immense value in the simple act of acknowledging someone's birthday or expressing gratitude for their contributions.
