FM Talent's Random Acts of Kindness program encourages our employees to act selflessly to help others. Empathy always creates opportunities for Kindness. Our talent Laniqua Turner gave a gift and prayer to a homeless man in need in this week's Random Acts of Kindness! Modern slavery doesn’t discriminate. It might surprise you that currently, the majority of those experiencing modern slavery in the UK are men, with numbers increasing year on year. Male survivors can struggle to regain confidence, positivity, and a sense of normality once they are free. We need male figures in support roles, such as Toby, a Causeway Anti-Slavery Support Advocate, to help survivors feel comfortable sharing their stories and building a relationship with someone they can identify more easily with. Hear more from Toby about how his role has given him purpose and direction, and sign up for our free webinar to learn more about careers in modern slavery support - see the link to sign up in the comments below 👇🏾 #YourFreshStart #ModernSlavery

Are homeless encampments a "security" issue? Over the past several months I've been priviledged to help define the role of security in this difficult space. It is tempting to view encampments as a trespassing issue, and in turn push the problem out to another location. A NIMBY approach, however, neither helps the homeless nor strengthens our society. Security professionals are natural connectors, given their ongoing interactions across business and community. While security can bring in tools and resources to limit criminality (that is our niche), our strongest asset may be the networks we are tapped into. And bringing social services, Faith-based organizations, business leaders and government to the table may be our biggest long-term contribution to this challenge. What are your thoughts? How are you helping those in encampments, and helping to make society a safer and kinder place? #security #homelessness #kindness #society
