H.E Cyril Ramaphosa President, Republic of South Africa, said that Mining has a crucial role to play in the economy of tomorrow, and there is a deepening of collaboration with industry and government to write a new chapter: a story of growth, transformation and innovation - where no one is left behind. He called on miners to extract, but with two duties in mind. One - communities must become part of the wealth creation, workers too. Two - to create a beneficial value chain to extract real value through beneficiation. #AfricanMiningIndaba2024 #MI24 #MiningIndaba2024 #Mining # beneficiation

Mining Loss&Risk Mitigator in Afrika. Fisher of Men 4 YAHWHE, Spreader of The Good Light, Child Protector and Leader.
Always good to review these Confrence achievements and points of interest to see who kept their promises. Well summarized James it's not often the Chairs @ these Conferences do that. I believe The SADEC Countries who due to their close proximity to each other, close language ties, traditions etc. needs to really work far closer together in Mining better to the benefit of Southern Africa. Challenges like Rail Networks, Harbour's, Power Grids can be sorted out beneficialy to all. And especially to the Agriculteral Growth of the Region, we have G8 Soil and Water for farming and willing competent Farmers. I believe there is a huge opportunity to clean up, legalize, regulate and develop Artisanal/Informal Mining in SADEC. But eradicate Criminal Mining and smuggeling. Doing that will ensure better Tax Recoveries and contribute to the Country GDP's rather than bolstering the 4 major Gold Thief's Operating in Africa. Cleaning up the Procurement Mafia in the Region will also benefit the Mining Industry. Junior Miners needs to get more Rockleakers into the Bush and Deserts of Namibia, Northern Cape and Botswana as due to its vast areas, I believe there is hidden wealth to be discovered. Minehouses that wants to operate in Africa successfully must have an Africa Expert on their Board. Africa's Culture is different to that of Canada, America and Australia. Yes you have First World Practices that can benefit us in how we Mine but it has to be sold to us not force fed. Lastly surely with all the G8 Mining Gurus/Minds in the World it is possible to get to a Computerised Template Bussnis Model for a Healthy Mining Operation in Africa where there is a Cake sharing that benefits ALL ROLE PLAYERS, including the Community. Governments grabbing big Royalty Funds never gets to the people who's ground you took over in the first place so they become problematic and hostile to the Mine. It just Kills the Golden Goose and further Investments in the Country. The Royal Bafokeng Model in Rustenburg, South Africa must be one of the most succesfull Models of Community Benefits in Africa. Also the FQM Model in Zambia. The Mining Minister of a Country must know the Mining Bussnis very well. Mines needs to Manufacture more so as to create growth in the economy and employment rather than just extracting and exporting especially Concentrates. Best wishes 4 the up and coming Confrence.
This was my closing, summary address at the African Mining Summit #AMS in 2019 in Gaborone, Botswana. I find it helpful to look back at what was discussed and agreed and see how far we have come (or not as the case may be) five years later. I look forward to the tenth edition of the AMS next week, also in Gaborone, where I will be chairing the diamond panel. #Africa #Botswana #Minerals #Mining #Exploration #Diamonds https://lnkd.in/dZPsEyqQ

👉 Mexico is failing to tap into the huge potential of its lithium industry ❗ According to the US Geological Survey, Mexico's lithium reserves amount to 1.7 million tons, the tenth largest in the world. However, the country has yet to begin production while the prospects for this to change don’t look good due to: ▶ The passing in early 2023 of the controversial Mexico’s Mining Law which put production in state hands. ▶ So far, presidential candidates haven’t show that much interest in the sector. #Mexico #lithium #lithiumbattery #mining
