HR rarely finishes the year on a quiet note. The people and the business don’t stop. Which means HR doesn’t either. (Not to mention we always need to be ready for 1/1.) This used to frustrate me each December. But then I realized that finishing strong was a differentiator. And pushing through in December made January that much easier. It’s normal to feel tired and ready for the holiday break at this point in the year. So yes - don’t overlook your need to rest and recharge. Just make sure you give these last 4 weeks of the year your full attention. It’s tempting to want to coast through to 2024. No one ever said finishing strong was easy. But it will set you apart in your HR career.
