Flexi-Time or Fixed Time & Why? Some employees adhere to a conventional timetable, while others prefer the freedom of flexible work hours, enabling them to select their start and end times within specific parameters, such as arriving later or departing earlier. In my view, the suitability of flexible hours largely hinges on the type of business, as not every organization can accommodate such flexibility. Additionally, I believe that this arrangement might diminish face-to-face interactions, which is something I value in the workplace. Again it depends on how it is adapted and accommodated as everything is prone to pros and cons.

New flexible working rules from the 6th April mean employees will be entitled to request flexible working arrangements from the very first day of their employment rather than after 26 weeks as is currently. This includes requests for part-time, term-time, flexitime, compressed hours, and varied working locations. Under the new rules, before you reject any request for flexible working arrangements, you have to explain the reasons behind the decision. Previously, you could deny any request for flexible working without explanation. You are also now obliged to respond to flexible working requests within two months, compared to three months previously. Under the new legislation, employees can also make two statutory requests for flexible working in any 12-month period, as opposed to one request previously. Make sure all your line managers are aware of the changes. If you are unsure of how to respond give me a call. #flexibleworking #requestsforflexibleworking #respondingtoflexibleworking

Can big companies be flexible? And how on earth do you make that work? Here's a few tips: 😎 Have a base line of flexibility that connects everyone. Even if that's 1 day working from home a week, or a bit of flexi-time in hours. 🎾 Be honest about where working environments differ - don't try to hide it, you'll make it worse! 🧑🌾 Position new flexible working policies as 'trials' to allow for transitions and to reassure senior leaders Flexa #remoteworking #flexibleworking

Flexible Working Act changes 💪 "Employees can now make two rather than one request a year for flexible working, and the deadline for employers to respond to requests has been reduced from three to two months." While this may not be ground-breaking, it's certainly a step in the right direction. Who remembers pre-pandemic times when 1 day working from home was seen as a benefit rather than a given? #FlexibleWorking #Recruitment #WaveTalent

This week we are talking about flexible working as the law is changing this spring. Here are four types of flexible working options: 1. Job sharing One job role is split between two people and the hours are divided between them. 2. Working from home (or another location) Many employers have already embraced hybrid working or full time working from home 3. Part time Working less than full-time hours, either by working fewer days or working less hours each day. 4. Compressed hours Working full-time hours but over fewer days. For more information and advice about flexible working, DM us or email hradmin@synergiehr.co.uk. Flexi Working Hours: It's about time for every organization to implement flexible working hours, especially for roles that don't require face-to-face interactions with clients, allowing employees the option to work from home. With the abundance of technology for virtual meetings and discussions, there's a viable alternative to the distractions and lack of focus in the office, where constant interruptions from the boss can impede productivity. For employers, autonomy is crucial for employees to seek information independently, avoiding unnecessary prolonged discussions. This ensures efficient time management and faster completion of tasks. All employees should strive to deliver results based on predetermined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). However, the reality often falls short of the ideal. There are usually employees who take advantage of the flexibility. If the government finds it challenging to terminate their employment, measures must be taken to retain these problematic employees. Let's explore and embrace the benefits of a flexible work environment, leveraging technology for seamless communication and collaboration. #FlexiHours #RemoteWork #Productivity
