The story shared in this article will not mention any product promotion, so please read it quietly, okay? ✨ Last June, winni Y. and Shirly Gao, our colleagues from the international department, went to 🇰🇷 to participate in the The in-cosmetics Group exhibition. One of the customers was on a business trip to another city in South Korea💼. When he learned that we had arrived in #Seoul, he immediately rushed back to Seoul from the other city and stayed near the hotel where we were staying. Early the next morning, he drove us to the airport to catch our flight. ✈️ When we met, he took us to eat local Korean specialties. 🥘Later, after learning that we went to the wrong terminal, he rushed back and sent us to the correct terminal and helped us point out the direction. We are always touched by this series of actions of our customer and sincerely grateful for his help. 🙏 At this point, our cooperative relationship is still continuing, but our personal relationship is no longer that of a customer and his sales #manager. We have already become good friends who send each other gifts. 🎁🤝 Our sharing is not to show how important it is to maintain the "customer relationship". We just want to say: Sincerity is exchanged for sincerity, which is extremely precious. 🏆❤️ #BusinessSuccess #TeamSpirit #InternationalBusiness #SuccessStories #Team #female #leadership #CompanyCulture #focusfreda #business #cooperate #relationship #friendship

#Chris' visit to Korea and speech in #Luxury & #Lifestyle (L&L) Business Unit townhall on March 6 was inspiring to me. #DKSH #Korea L&L business has been successfully grown and now it became the operational model the Global consider strategically to replicate in other markets. In the journey, KR people will contribute a lot and it is really exciting, isn't it! In order to achive double growth by 2030, he especially emphasized each of us has ownership in the vertical culture. HOW? 1. Remember #TOFU Collectively Take Ownership and Follow Up 2. Focus on growth and seek ideas. 3. If you are a manager, listen to others for taking a momentum. 4. Take ownership by each own resource and create synergy If 10 people are in a meeting, who will be most powerful? All can be. Most Sr leader, he/she will make a final decision. Most junior, he/she is equipped with data. 5. Keep good energy and passion. #dksh #korea #luxury #lifestyle #townhall #ChrisRitchie #TOFU

Want to build lasting relationships in business? Take a page from the Korean playbook. After an amazing first 30 days of posting on LI with #brand30, we took the next 30 days to live and work in Korea and celebrate our baby's 1st birthday with family. My time here has been more than just kimchi and K-pop (although, those are pretty great too!). It's been a deep dive into a culture rich with values that have reshaped my perspective on life and work. Here are a few key principles I've learned: • Respect is earned, not demanded. The emphasis on hierarchy may feel unfamiliar, but it allows for a lesson on the importance of honoring experience and showing respect through actions, not just words. • Slow and steady wins the race. Korean culture values gradual progress and building trust over time. This is a valuable reminder that sustainable success is a marathon, not a sprint. • Your network is your net worth. Building genuine relationships is key, both personally and professionally. The spirit of collaboration and mutual support in Korea is incredible. • Loyalty isn't just a word, it's a way of life. When visiting our friends and family here, I always feel the depth of commitment that Koreans have towards these relationships. They truly know the meaning of showing up for the people who matter. • Hard work paves the road to success. Nobody works harder than Koreans, almost to a fault. It's important to always strive for improvement and never settle for mediocrity. I'm grateful I get to raise my son with these cultural principles and visit regularly in the years to come so he gets to grow up with both sides of the family and a deep understanding of multiple languages and cultures. What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from another culture?

Helping companies conquer new markets & expand their business abroad | 15+ years of experience, 20M+ in growth, 50+ countries | B2B Export Mentor
𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗜 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆. Watch it with SOUND! 💡 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺? I was recently reminded of this during a trip where I worked with companies from Japan, Taiwan, and China in 2017. One evening, we ended up by a river for dinner in the Dongguang region, and I saw a Chinese rowing team training. What I witnessed was remarkable and provided the perfect metaphor for teamwork in export. 🔹 They prepared: 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 🔹 They launched: 𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙮𝙣𝙘, 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙧𝙝𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙢. 🔹 They moved forward quickly: 𝙘𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙠𝙚𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺. In export, the entire company must work together—sales, marketing, logistics, leadership, production, or service development—each with its own vital role. Just as the rowing team leader cannot achieve success alone, neither can an export manager deliver results alone. Teamwork and coordination are the keys to unlocking new markets or helping to grow existing ones. Like in rowing, the export manager cannot deliver results alone, no matter how skilled. Success depends on the seamless collaboration of the whole team, and that’s how doors to markets are opened. #Teamwork #ExportSuccess #GlobalBusiness #Coordination #Export #eyba #expandyourbusinessabroad #growglobal #exportmentor

You can't call yourself a global creative if you haven't worked in Asia. This is not my quote, because honestly, I've never worked in Asia. But I know it's true. I've discovered how crazy different this continent is during the Asia Module of the Berlin School of Creative Leadership. I've had masterclasses in Seoul and Tokyo and this is what I've learned. 🇰🇷 South Korea. I didn't expect that the development of this country was that far. In South Korea the mentality of the industry is that they want to be at least second best. Why settle for being second? I said "at least". And this counts for everything. Whether it's a paperclip or a new mobile phone, they want to match at least the market leader or the inventor in terms of quality. And you know what? They are so focused and hard-working that they succeed. 🇯🇵 Japan. Even though close to each other on the map, the culture is completely different. Whereas the culture of South Korea comes from one pool, Japan has many layers of culture. And all these different subcultures respect each other and inspire each other. I was already interested in manga, Japanese series, movies and music before I went there so this was not a surprise to me. Being in Japan was like meeting an old friend. The quote above is from one of my professors during the module. He's a managing director who worked in both Europe and Asia and can confirm how different the place is. And he's right. Too many creatives put "global creative" under their name because they made a campaign for Sony or Hyundai. I've worked in both Brazil and Germany, but I guess that doesn't make me a "global creative". At least not yet 😅. What's your take on this? Ever worked on a different continent? #advertising #asia #japan #southkorea #creativity

Throwing back last week moments. Last week, Visit Taiwan teams had organised an event in Sunway Pyramid, is the aim to promoting people in Malaysia visit to Taiwan, the main thing I went there is actually craving for vigor kobo. This brand is very famous in Taiwan which is selling Pineapple Tarts in Taiwan and is located in Taipei, Kaushiung and most travel place. In this event, I get to meet the Person In Charge, Hayata. Throughout the conversation, we know that the brand during the Covid-19 period has closing few outlets to saving the cost. But suprisingly knowing they are doing an alternate brands which focusing on bread. Sometimes the company might closing few outlets to sustain the company to move forward but when comes the opportunities, take the chance and expand. Opening a business is easy, but sustain the company is a most challenging stuff, facing and do changes to fullfill the market is the must to sustain the company. Accept the challenge, face the problems, make the brands be more. Same taste but improving on design, packaging or marketing is also a good way to attract new customers which different audiences range. When they expand their market to Malaysia? I wish to get for a colloboration and make it worldwide :)

Can you sense the mood of a room? In Korea, this is an everyday necessary skill that’s described with the word “nunchi”… a concept of emotional intelligence that can transform your professional relationships. Nunchi is about quickly and accurately reading a situation, then adapting your behavior accordingly so you can be a better collaborator, leader, and negotiator. A few years ago a book written by Euny Hong described the power of nunchi as “ The Korean Secret to Happiness and Success.” The term "nunchi" literally translates to "eye-measure." Rooted in Korean culture for centuries, it's the art of reading the air, sensing the unsaid, and navigating social situations with grace and effectiveness. It's also about being fully present and attuned to your environment and the people in it. The idea is not just unique to Korea either... Other cultures across the world have concepts to describe their own version of a similar cultural practice. In a globalized business landscape, nunchi offers a competitive edge that transcends cultural boundaries. As we increasingly work in diverse, multicultural teams, the ability to quickly read and adapt to various social contexts becomes invaluable. It’s why Ben duPont and I devoted an entire chapter in our upcoming book to showcasing the idea of nunchi. If you grew up in a low-nunchi culture, you may be wondering how you can improve this ability for yourself. Read on to learn five practical ways you can develop your nunchi skills and boost your professional relationships. #personalgrowth #nunchi #professionalgrowth

Thank you so much, Dr. Greg Story Leadership-Sales-Presentations-TOKYO, Japan, for inviting me to join Dale Carnegie Japan's top business interview series. It has been a great moment sharing my experience of leading an office in a country with such a rich and distinct culture like Japan. Having been in Japan long enough, I've come to understand that every situation has its pros and cons. While there are certain cultural elements in Japanese business that may make speed, decision-making, or agile innovation a bit more complicated, it's important to recognize that the same cultural roots also harbor numerous positive attributes. For non-Japanese individuals, the initial experiences can be quite frustrating. However, it's important to maintain an open mindset to comprehend all facets of the situation and its context. Rushing to judgment can lead to overlooking vital information and making avoidable mistakes. Keeping a consistently balanced perspective is key. #Japan #changemanagement #leadershipdevelopment https://lnkd.in/gJSwd-dV
