To my Vans Retail network, let's get you situated amidst the news. When one door shuts, another one opens. Don't forget the possibilities are endless. 💫 Some food for thought. This "tower moment" is meant to redirect you to who knows where? Happy to help. Some options: 1. You can join Skechers (I grew my career here, maybe you can too?) 2. Type in the word "Recruiter" in the LinkedIn search bar + the name of a company you're interested in, their career tab should list openings 3. The Classic walk-in and ask to apply, ask for the Store Manager to be on their radar, they might interview you on the spot 4. Leverage the Mall Management office- ask the GM about opportunities other employers have posted (or maybe land an office admin job by getting to know them!) 5. Partner with your campus career center - they have 100's of employers competing for your attention 6. If your college uses the Handshake app- you have access to job posts AND campus hiring events (I just hired students at an event yesterday!) 7. My bff Indeed - short application process 8. Find a company you want to join, look for their District Sales Manager on LinkedIn and ask for an interview with the Store Manager (top down approach) 9. Ready for an HQ corporate desk job? Customer Service Call Centers are ALWAYS hiring. (It's a love/hate role, but easier to land with your experience, here's your easy foot in the door to corporate) 10. Goto your city workforce center - they can cast your info wide to various employers / or find a reputable temp agency to explore different jobs you're curious about. 11. Open the door to other industries look up (ie) Automotive Customer Experience/Advisor roles, Grocery, Banking, City jobs, Social Media 12. This one takes guts, but it helped me grow my network along the way. Connect with an executive - CEO or VP level and ask them if they need an Executive Assistant if you're looking for a mentor (they might be curious on how they can help, possibly ignore you, or steer you to their Talent Acquisition Manager - boom, you're on the radar (sometimes they follow up to check on you and your trajectory!) 13. Vans, a VF Company - if you're a field leader seeing this, feel free to forward team members that may need support in the SoCal Region (LA/IE/OC/SD) ❤️ 14. If you can, take some time to outline your path vs. being reactive. Assess what you want to do that you haven't given time to do, think about roles that align with your major (if you're studying) or change up your path completely - yes you have the ability to do that and change your world. To fellow recruiters- feel free to comment with any advice and knowledge to help others find a new gig quickly. We have tuition, car payments and rent that might be on the line with this untimely news over the holidays. Your advice might change someone's life trajectory in ways they can't even fathom yet. ❤️ Skechers Career Site: https://lnkd.in/gy9QgBVV

HCMC, 07 Apr 2024 Dear Diary, Today is nothing special, and I’m still trying my best to chase the next move in my own career path. It’s been 6 days since my official unemployed accident. Everything is still fine, life goes on. But the only problem comes from my own feelings and self-motivation. Honestly, it’s always much harder to face with the situation than just sit in your own comfortable office and writing about “how to manage your situation.” – you know what I mean, right? Therefore, action speak louder than words. Anyway, I must keep going on, moving forward and spend more energy chasing a proper solution – which can help break out bottleneck on my way, help to re-connect with monthly money flow (a daily job). I’ve read this somewhere before, and this helps me a lot these days. “A winner is just a loser - who tried one more time.” – quoted by George Augustus Moore Yes, maybe all the thing I must remind myself whenever being rejected is “try one more time.” p/s: I’m open to looking for new opportunities as a Senior Merchandiser/ Team leader within garment/ Apparel manufacture industry: _ level: sewing factory & vendor office & buyer/ brand representative office all ok with me. _ Working place: HCMC. _ I’m qualified for both development & production. _ I’m available to onboard soon by 1st of May. _ Expect income from $1,000 net. Mon ~ Fri per week. Thanks & regards, 😊 Kelvin Ying. #unemployed, #36yo, #merchandiser #opportunities, #HCMC, #garment, #apparel, #textile, #vietnam

London Reeves Current Company: The Bronco Nation Job title: Merchandise Product Manager Job description: Remote job where I manage all things merchandise-related for Bronco Nation! From the creation of new designs and seasonal collections to the importation of items to our online store, I manage this whole process. We are officially licensed by Ford, so I work with their teams to make sure all of our items are approved by them. We also have live events that we go to, so I create merchandise plans for each event and curate what we want to send where based on previous sales and regional data. Sometimes I can travel to these events and work as a sales rep in the booth, meeting community members and learning about buying patterns and trends in new locations. I also oversee all sales for our 3rd party brands that we have on our website and manage these accounts for vehicle accessories. What from your days at Auburn has helped you the most? There are so many things I learned at Auburn that have been so beneficial in my job. Textiles was a very important class because it’s helpful to know about the fabric composition and what will or won’t shrink/what is best for each environment. We are very outdoor-focused and so we deal a lot with waterproof or water-resistant fabrics so it is helpful to remember some things from that class. Retail planning was also extremely important, learning all about the 6-month plan and open-to-buy. Right when I started this job I was asked to create a 6 month plan and I looked back on class notes that I had saved… I would highly recommend doing that!! Also, I can’t remember the exact name, but there was an advanced Excel class I took my senior year that I truly thought I would never need to use and I truly use so much of that every single day. VLOOKUP is your friend! What is your favorite part of working at your current company? So many things! I am truly so blessed to work with the team that I do… the people are so great and I appreciate them more than they know! The Bronco Nation is part of a larger company that is a creative advertising agency, so I get to work a lot with creative-minded people and I love bouncing ideas and brainstorming. That has been cool for me to get to listen and learn from so many people who are ahead of me in their careers and learn how they got there and honestly just take in any advice. One of our newest team members did retail planning for American Eagle and then Carhartt so it has been cool to be mentored by him. No day looks the same for me because there are so many moving parts, and I also love getting to travel out to events and meet people since most days I work remotely at home.
