D-Day 80 has come and gone. What was missing from the commemoration? Yes, the very aircraft type that enabled it, and then in the subsequent battle of a Normandy, ensured victory. Without the Typhoon victory may well not have occurred, or if it did it would have taken considerably longer with more lives lost. There should be an airworthy Typhoon, to act as a living, breathing, working and flying memorial. It is missing. An airworthy Hawker Typhoon is what we are working to achieve. We need support to make that happen. From the individual, the company, or the corporation, we need it all. A a relatively minor investment or donation you can ensure that the page of the history book relating to this is written correctly for future generations. With the right support our aircraft, RB396, could be flying for the next major D-Day anniversary. With your help this could be a reality.

Change management, decision making, remaining calm under pressure, controlling the controllables, finding a safe space to decompress and managing our capacity buckets. Watch part 2 of Inspire-Ability interview with Emma Henderson MBE MRAeS
A brand new episode of Inspire-Ability is here! In the second episode of series 2, Emma shares how her love of flying first began at the age of 18, and how a series of coincidences led to her joining a University Air Squadron; having also met her husband on UAS, and moving to New Zealand to support his RAF career, she was able to resume her flying lessons - but under one condition: “If I start flying again, I’m not stopping.” Emma discusses how this led to a career as a commercial pilot upon returning to the UK, and all of the challenges that had to be overcome in this time. A key topic in this episode is the importance of a support network in managing stressful situations, and how Zammo’s “Just Say No” attitude can be employed to manage your own ‘capacity bucket’. Hands-on Tech-driven Executive. I'm happy to drive business growth through strategic Sales and Marketing, sustainable innovations, and impactful solutions.
What about your schedule today? 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🇨🇦 🇫🇷 Back 80 Years Ago on the Longest Day As we hustle through our busy schedules today, let's take a moment to reflect on the 80th anniversary of D-Day—June 6, 1944—known as the "Longest Day." For the brave aviators of that time, it was a day that demanded unparalleled courage and resilience. On the night of June 5th, 1944, Waco CG-4A gliders—primitive yet vital aircraft made from steel and wood, and without engines—were towed across the English Channel. These "flying coffins," with a wingspan of about 48 feet and a cargo capacity of up to 3,800 pounds, carried troops and supplies into enemy territory. Navigating through darkness and adverse weather, these pilots exemplified extraordinary bravery and skill. Their successful missions behind enemy lines were crucial for the success of the Normandy landings, showcasing the indomitable spirit and determination of those involved. As we tackle our own challenges today, let's draw inspiration from these historical feats. The legacy of D-Day's glider pilots reminds us of the incredible achievements possible through dedication and teamwork. #DDay #AviationHistory #Aviation #AviationIndustry #NeverForget

Hamilton's Lancaster bomber, initially displayed as a war memorial in Goderich, Ontario from 1964 to the late 1970s, has been restored and will make a historic return flight on June 14th, exactly 60 years after its final flight. The aircraft, now part of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, underwent extensive restoration and is one of only two airworthy Lancasters in the world. I love old photos like this. They make me want to see the world from their point of view in history. Mary Guthrie flew for the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) and ferried Spitfires and Hurricanes during WWII. After the war, she was an "air hostess" for British South American Airways. It must've been hard to be humble after being a badass pilot. Mary, you had no fame or fortune back then, but thank you for your service. You are not forgotten... #aviation #aviationindustry #pilot #pilottraining #learn #fly #flight #aviationhistory #spitfire #learning #training #pilotlife #history #wwii #worldwar2 #womeninaviation #airplane #aircraft #thrive #knowledge #knowledgeispower #achickinthecockpit #linkedin #share #thrive
