Ah, the cocktail hour - that magical time between your ceremony and reception where guests mingle, sip on delicious drinks, and soak in the celebratory atmosphere. But what exactly is the cocktail hour, and how can you make the most of it? The cocktail hour is that delightful interlude in your wedding timeline where guests transition from witnessing your beautiful ceremony to celebrating your union in a more relaxed setting. It's a chance for everyone to unwind, catch up with old friends, and make new ones while enjoying some tasty libations. Now, the big question: should you serve food during your cocktail hour? Absolutely! While the focus may be on the drinks, offering some light bites is a great way to keep guests satisfied and enhance the overall experience. Think of delicious hors d'oeuvres like mini sliders, bruschetta, or cheese platters to tantalize their taste buds. But how do you smoothly transition your guests from the ceremony to the cocktail hour? It's all about communication and planning. Make sure your invitations or wedding website clearly outline the timing of events, including the start of the cocktail hour. You can also have ushers or signage directing guests to the cocktail area, ensuring a seamless transition. So here's to the cocktail hour - a time for laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. Cheers! 🥂 #CocktailHour #WeddingPlanning #CheersToLove #DallasWeddings

We never planned to host wedding whisky tastings. It's 10 years since we created Whiskybosh. The impetus was to create adventures for the senses that moved away from the antiquated approaches to tasting whisky. Creating wonderlands of colours, textures, sounds, and of course flavours to make whisky more accessible, understandable, and most importantly - fun. In this time we've hosted whisky events all over the world, including sharing drams with The Walt Disney Company Limited, Hugo Boss, Bucknell University, The Langham, and the most wonderful brides, grooms, and associated wedding guests. It just so happened that when we raised our sails, the winds of fortune blew us towards weddings. And listening to a recent interview about how Amazon only ever planned to sell books, it made me think about how an open and inquisitive mind is an important component of success. But the more I think about hosting whisky tastings at weddings, the more it makes sense. As it turns out, whisky tastings complement weddings perfectly. Our tastings fit immaculately amongst other events by complementing cocktails, nibbles, and dancing. Adding a little extra sparkle that promotes conversations, socialising, and delight. But being too fixed on an idea at the start had shrouded our ability to see how superb whisky tastings could be at weddings. Sometimes it takes a little push, pure chance, or luck to see such things. Which is why it's always important to keep an open mind and never cease to appreciate inspiration and opportunity when it comes your way. #scottishwedding #whiskytasting #whiskywedding https://lnkd.in/eds6bmGx

I have seen 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜'𝘀 in big fat Indian weddings, stuffing their plates full of food and still being unsatisfied. I think I may have figured out the reason behind it. When your plate is full, you aim to eat everything on it. (𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?😉) Accordingly; - your 𝗙𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗦 is divided and - the time to process the taste of the 𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗚𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗔 (𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝗲) is now taken over by the expectation of the taste that might come from the 𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜 (𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝘁). - this goes on and on until you are full. Now, this creates a perception: "𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗵 𝘀𝗮𝗯 𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗮, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝗵𝗶 𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗮" - (𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜'𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲) This perception leads to a state where you feel that you did everything, but 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 is nowhere to be found. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁? Exactly, that's what happens when you do things just for the sake of doing them. We fill our plates (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲) with so many things (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀) at a time that the very taste (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗳𝘂𝗻) is just lost in 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗥. So, the next time you are at a wedding try advising 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜 to take only the things he loves to eat and not just for the sake of eating. (𝗵𝗮𝗮𝗻, 𝗷𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗸𝗶 𝘃𝗼𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗶 𝗷𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲) And, maybe it's about time we should incorporate it into our life too! Do you have any 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜 experience to share? Drop it in the comments, I would love to read them out.👇🏻 PS: The post involves 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱, the photo used is of 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱. (𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗸𝗶 𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗷𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗺 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗶.) 😂

Planning Your Wedding? Or Corporate Party? Here is some advice on when and where to start looking for your bartender! In our opinion, one of the essential elements for a successful celebration is securing a talented bartender. Whether you’re envisioning a signature cocktail or simply ensuring smooth service, here’s a guide on when to start contacting bartenders for your big day. 🍹🥂 1. Start Early – Ideally 6-9 Months in Advance The best bartenders are in high demand, especially during peak wedding season. To ensure you secure your first-choice professional, it’s wise to start your search and make initial contact 6 to 9 months before your wedding date. This timeframe gives you ample opportunity to explore options, conduct tastings, and finalize your choice without the pressure of last-minute decisions. 2. Consider Your Event Date If your event falls during peak event season (spring and summer months), holiday weekends, or popular dates (like New Year’s Eve), you’ll need to act even faster. Bartenders’ schedules fill up quickly during these times, so reaching out as early as 9-12 months in advance can be beneficial. 3. Flexibility is Key If you’re planning an event with a shorter timeline, don’t panic! While starting early is ideal, many bartenders can accommodate shorter notice, especially during off-peak seasons. Flexibility with your date and openness to different options can help you secure a great bartender even on a tighter schedule. 4. Inquire About Availability and Services When you contact potential bartenders, ask about their availability and the range of services they offer. Do they provide custom cocktails? Are they equipped to handle large crowds? Understanding these details will help you make an informed decision. P.S. Beviamo! Mobile Bar can do all of the above + more! (: 5. Schedule Tastings and Consultations Once you’ve narrowed down your choices, schedule tastings and consultations to discuss your vision, preferences, and any specific requirements. This step ensures that the bartender can tailor their services to your unique needs and helps establish a good working relationship. 6. Confirm and Finalize Details After selecting your bartender, confirm all details in writing, including the date, time, services, and payment terms. This clarity helps avoid any misunderstandings and ensures that everything runs smoothly on your wedding day. Starting your bartender search early not only guarantees you the best talent but also gives you peace of mind as you plan your special day. Cheers to a memorable celebration! 🥂

LinkedIn Top Voice | F&B Entrepreneur with 20+ Years of Experience | Award-winning Food Entrepreneur | Running 3+ Successful Restaurants in MCR, UK | Follow for F&B Growth Tips
I own 3 restaurants. In most cases, I don't get to enjoy festivals, holidays and weekends. But when I do, I make sure I celebrate the festival like there's no tomorrow! The joys of celebrating these occasions with family and friends. The joy of coming together on a special day. The joy of being with the right people. These moments often pass by in a blur of activity and hustle. People working in restaurant industry can feel me. While most people are gearing up to unwind and enjoy the festivities... We are gearing up for the busiest times of the year. Weekends? Busy. Festivals? Busy. Holidays? Busy. Amidst these busy days, there's a certain satisfaction. Satisfaction in knowing that our dedication keeps the heartbeats of our businesses alive. We may sacrifice our own celebrations. But we are glad our sacrifice is making your celebrations even more amazing. And I wouldn't have it any other way. There are times when I miss out on family gatherings or holiday traditions. But at the end of the day, seeing the smiles on my customers' faces makes it all worth it. The owners. The chefs. The servers. The managers. They are working tirelessly to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of extraordinary. And that is the spirit of hospitality at its finest. PS: Happpppy Holi everyone. #hospitality #restaurantindustry #restaurant #business #entrepreneurship
