We analyzed 198 countries and found a clear inverse relationship between income and funding needs for climate adaptation; see the graph below. That means that blended financing solutions for climate adaptation will need significant support from higher income countries. As COP 29 approaches, let's get both granular and comprehensive to scale up blended financing solutions for climate adaptation. https://lnkd.in/gS8EBxvH

A credible 'Climate Transition Plan' needs to include climate adaptation in addition to decarbonisation. Issuers will need to have adaptation in their CTPs to align with ISSB or most climate-related regulatory reporting requirements. This High-Level Climate Champions paper highlights the business opportunities that can stem from achieving adaptation and resilience targets - helpfully broken down by sector. It is a great starting point for companies thinking about the business opportunities in adaptation. So proud of the work from Mikaela Comella, M.Env.Sc on this report.
