Only 19% of delegations in COP climate negotiations are led by women. Recognizing the urgent need to elevate women's leadership in climate action, we partnered with The New York Times for a series of impactful initiatives during #ClimateWeekNYC. The partnership culminated in a compelling panel discussion that explored the critical role women play in driving climate solutions and the importance of ensuring their voices are heard at all levels of decision-making. Our Vice President, Alexandra Palt, led a powerful discussion with changemakers like Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, Nidhi Pant, Dr. Bridget Burns and Dr. Auma Obama, alongside 120+ inspiring leaders. Together we discussed: ✅ Overcoming obstacles to advance women-led climate solutions ✅ Scaling up gender-inclusive approaches for a greener future ✅ Leveraging women's leadership to drive more effective climate action By providing women with mentorship and resources, such as the Women Climate Collective program in India, we empower women to become key actors in their community and shape a more sustainable future. Because when women lead, positive change follows. 💪 Check out highlights from the event in New York! 📸 #WomenAndClimate #ClimateAction

5moIt was an honor to participate in the Roundtable organized by Fondation L'Oréal during Climate Week NYC. The discussions were truly inspiring, and I deeply resonate with the focus on elevating women's leadership in climate action. At Mahila Housing Trust, we have pioneered a Women-Led Climate Change Model that empowers women from urban poor communities to take charge of climate resilience initiatives in their settlements across India, Nepal & Bangladesh. Our approach is grounded in participatory methods where women conduct needs assessments and develop climate adaptation strategies, ensuring their voices shape sustainable solutions at the local level. We firmly believe, as echoed in this event, that when women lead, impactful change follows, creating greener, more inclusive futures. Bijal Brahmbhatt Rachana Shah
