From 2022 to 2023, China's road freight sector made significant progress towards zero emission transformation. Supported by dual-carbon and environmental protection policies, technological advancements, and market mechanisms, the overall sales volume and penetration rate of new energy trucks increased significantly compared to 2021, maintaining a leading international position. Among all vehicle types, the sales of new energy heavy trucks continued to grow rapidly, reaching 34,560 units in 2023 representing a 40% increase and setting a historical record. Promoting zero emission trucks, especially for medium and long-haul transport, still faces challenges. Electric trucks are primarily used in short and medium-haul scenarios, and zero emission heavy trucks for long-haul transport do not yet offer economic advantages and lack a sustainable business model. Currently, there is a need to build public charging infrastructure suitable for high-power fast charging systems for trucks and to develop standardized battery swapping infrastructure and standards. ZEFI Annual Summit will provide a good opportunity to gather all stakeholders of zero emission freight in China, to view the progress and challenges of 2023, to explore opportunities and trends in the future, and most importantly, to celebrate important milestones and achievements together. #China #Friehgt #ZEFV #HDT #Decarbonization https://lnkd.in/g_UJS4ag
