🌱 An insightful discussion on NGTs and agriculture at KU Leuven Plant Institute This past Friday, the KU Leuven Plant Institute had the privilege of welcoming MEP Kathleen Van Brempt and Bruno Tobback. Our meeting focused on New Genome Techniques (NGTs) and their critical role in shaping a sustainable future for European agriculture. Our conversation explored the science and history of NGTs, highlighting their potential to enhance agricultural resilience and sustainability. With MEP Van Brempt and Mr. Tobback, we examined important policy considerations such as labeling and traceability, and the impact on organic farming. The dialogue bridged academic research and policy, highlighting the importance of evidence-based approaches to agricultural innovation.
