Jamie Oliver is wanting to shine a light on people who are doing brilliant things to inspire kids through food. We think we might know a few of those people! We meet them every day. They inspire us and go above and beyond at schools, or in the community, teaching about or serving delicious, nutritious food. Amongst the very special, knowledgeable and famous panel of experts helping judge the awards, is our very own CEO David McNamara, who is passionate about food and establishing innovative food programs to reach the most vulnerable in our communities. If you know anyone doing brilliant things to inspire Aussie kids through food, nominate them now! https://lnkd.in/gSbBicmf The Jamie Oliver Group

Have you ever tried to enter a chili contest with fast food chili? I have, and here's the story. It all circles back to Mia Phifer, a dynamo in both the kitchen and the political arena. Welcome to Day 34 of my '365 Days of Thank You,' where I'm stirring the pot with tales from a tradition that's been simmering for over two decades. Our story starts at one of Mia's legendary chili parties, a tradition that's simmered from her humble Lakeview kitchen to become a citywide culinary showdown. In a bold (or perhaps foolish) move, a friend and I once tried to sneak in Wendy's chili as our entry. Needless to say, we didn't even come close to winning against the genuine culinary talents present. But Mia's influence stretches far beyond her kitchen. She's a political strategist with a knack for turning underdogs into winners. I was lucky enough to learn from her in a Campaign Class, where she distilled complex political strategies into actionable insights. Mia's approach to politics, much like her approach to her chili parties, is about bringing people together, fostering community, and standing up for what you believe in with unwavering tenacity. From Mia, I learned that whether you're stirring a pot of chili or steering a political campaign, the secret ingredients are passion, perseverance, and the ability to bring people together for a common cause. So here's to Mia Phifer, who proves that sometimes, the best political strategies (and chili recipes) come from the heart. #365DaysOfThankYou #LessonsInLeadership #CommunityBuilding

Co-founder of Exeo Advisors and ExitEngine I help business owners, founders and entrepreneurs grow and eventually sell their businesses.
If you read one thing this weekend, make it this letter. Get some coffee, tea, mate, kombucha, etc. https://lnkd.in/eiRB9ag8 I enjoy Berkshire’s annual letter because it is well written, explanatory, humble and full of wisdom. The letter is useful not only in explaining Berkshire’s diverse businesses and how they have performed but I seem to learn something new each year. If you learn something you want to share, put in the comments. #berkshirehathaway #annualreport #learning

I help major gift fundraisers to multiply results (and have fun doing it) with systems, psychology, sanity, and sacredness.
My wife and I love watching the Great British Baking Show (you can find it on Netflix). It’s a reality show where amateur bakers from around the United Kingdom compete against each other to be crowned the UK’s Best Amateur Baker. It’s hilarious, emotional, stressful, and hunger-inducing. One of my favorite segments is the “technical challenge” where the contestants are given a few key ingredients with minimal measurements and instructions for how to complete the challenge (such as Treacle Pudding, which turned out to be one of the hardest technical challenges ever on the show). Many of the technical challenges are not nearly as hard as Treacle Pudding, but the greatest bakers know how to mix the recommended ingredients to create something special and memorable, AND hopefully receive the all-elusive-hand-shake from Paul Hollywood. I issued a technical challenge of sorts this week related to crafting small events to cultivate major gifts for your cause. Search for #breakthruevents to find the three key ingredients I suggested (minus some of the more detailed instructions and nuances). If you would like a little more collaboration on how to get the best result from your event, schedule a free 30 minute call with me to talk further (https://lnkd.in/duEhJdby). That may be plenty, but if you need more time, my sessions are $400 for up to 90 minutes each. It is hard to overstate the potential return on investment of your time and resources on this. #majorgifts #smallevents #invitation #keyingredients #preparation #learning #investing #fundraising
