What should be the diet, a low budget or a high budget? Crafting a suitable diet often hinges on the financial parameters one operates within. The debate between adopting a low-budget versus a high-budget diet encompasses a myriad of considerations encompassing health, accessibility, sustainability, and personal values. The decision to embrace one over the other involves navigating a complex landscape where nutritional adequacy, food quality, and financial prudence intersect. The Low-Budget Diet: Necessity and Resourcefulness A low-budget diet necessitates resourcefulness and strategic planning. This dietary approach often leans towards cost-effective staples such as legumes, grains, and seasonal produce. Embracing whole foods in their unprocessed form not only proves to be economical but also offers essential macronutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Adopting a plant-centric approach, with occasional inclusions of affordable proteins like eggs or canned fish, becomes crucial in maximizing nutritional intake while minimizing costs. Additionally, meal prepping and buying in bulk emerge as effective strategies to optimize expenses and minimize food wastage. READ MORE:https://lnkd.in/dCyzTu-H

https://lnkd.in/gyetkirN Health expert from Australia's Griffith University, Dicky Budiman, explained the nutritional content that must be included in the free lunch program. According to him, protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and fiber must be included in the composition of a free nutritious eating program. "Then protein, for tissue growth and repair, the source is fish, eggs, nuts or dairy products, then healthy fats, this is to help "Absorb vitamins and provide energy. This can be avocado, good fats, nuts or fatty fish. Then, vitamins and minerals, this is also important, because these are for the function of various body organs or parts of the body, the sources are vegetables and fruit," he said. Dicky suggested that the free nutritious meal program should be designed based on children's nutritional needs, because they are in the growth phase. Milk is a natural source of the fats, minerals, nutrients, micronutrients, and vitamins required for a balanced diet. Milk and its related products are tested for three main reasons within the food and beverage industry: Nutrition, safety, and authenticity. By testing these three factors, consumers are more protected from mislabelled, fraudulent, and potentially contaminated milk products that may have reached the marketplace unregulated. #Chemetrix #Milk #MilkAnalysis #FoodAnalysis #AnalyticalInstruments #Laboratory

So a big review was carried out on Ultra Processed Foods (fast food, ready meals, breakfast cereals, fizzy drinks etc ) & found they're really harmful to health & linked to many diseases. This is no surprise as these foods are low in essential nutrients & fibre but high in sugar, unhealthy fats & additives, yet they worryingly make up around half of the food consumed in UK. Hopefully the government will start to do something now to reduce the sale of these! https://lnkd.in/dzicuGG6

IndustryARC™ updated the market research study on “𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭” Forecast (2024-2032) 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨👉🏿 https://lnkd.in/gUKBZMMq 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 The cereal Bar industry has witnessed huge demand owing to its ability to fulfill a variety of dietary needs, including low salt, low cholesterol, and low or no sugar. A cereal bar is simply known as a flapjack, a bar-shaped food product prepared by pressing cereals and, in most cases, dried fruit or berries together. These bars are also called as energy bars, nutrition bars as these bars are high in components that offer instant energy. Oats, nuts, and seeds, which are high in complex carbohydrates, are also important components of an excellent cereal bar. These are high in fiber, which the body break down more slowly than refined carbohydrate, allowing sugars to be released more slowly into the bloodstream. Cereal bar manufacturers provide a variety of custom-made goods that are not only nutritional and healthy, but also tasty. Owing to their flavor, dietary value, cereal bars consisting of granola and muesli have seen rapid expansion over the years. During the projected period, demand for cereal bars enriched with organic components such as dried fruits is likely to rise. 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 / 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 I recently came across the health star rating (HSR) system in use in Australia and New Zealand while doing some research and I loved the idea instantly. The health star rating of packaged and processed food determined by the health star rating calculator is based on the nutritional composition of food. The rating starts from 0.5 to 5 with 5 being the highest rating. The higher the star rating, the healthier the food and vice versa. The aim of the health star rating is to guide consumers to make smart choices at first glance about the nutritional composition of the food they intend to purchase. This rating will be helpful for consumers who find it difficult to interpret the nutritional facts on food label. Nutrients taken into consideration are: ⭐Positive nutrients (gain points): dietary fibre, vitamins, minerals, protein. ⭐Risk nutrients (lose points): saturated fat, sodium, sugar, energy. Do you think the health star rating system is worth adopting by other countries? As a food consumer, will the health star rating be useful to you if implemented? 🚫🍔🥤 Does processed food effect our health?? The Dark Side of Processed Food Consumption 🍟🥪🥤🚫 When it comes to food choices, it’s very easy to deviate from nutritional food and consume the available processed foods with a WOW!!! of choices.. However one must be aware of the issues that cannot be ignored anymore. 🔍 Be Aware of Hidden Ingredients: Processed foods often contain hidden additives, preservatives, and artificial flavours, which can have detrimental effects on our health in the long run. These additives are frequently linked to various health issues, including obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and even certain types of cancer. 💔 Nutrient Deficiency: Despite their enticing taste and convenience, processed foods are typically stripped of essential nutrients during manufacturing processes. This can lead to widespread nutrient deficiencies in individuals who rely heavily on processed foods, contributing to a host of health problems and compromised immune systems. Processed foods lack the vital nutrients found in whole, unprocessed foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. By substituting these nutritious options with processed alternatives, we deprive our bodies of the essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants necessary for optimal health and well-being. 🌍 Consider & Value our Environment: The production and consumption of processed foods contribute significantly to environmental degradation. From excessive packaging waste to the carbon footprint associated with mass production and transportation, our reliance on processed foods exacts a heavy toll on the planet. Risk of Processed foods: Numerous studies have linked excessive processed food consumption to an increased risk of chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome. It's crucial to heed the warnings provided by scientific research and make informed choices about the foods we consume. 🛑 What should you do?: As individuals, we have the power of making the right choices when it comes to our food. Please consider the shelf life of any food before you plan to buy and consume. Any food with less shelf life is the right choice and any food with more shelf life can lead to being processed and in the long run may turn up to be a disaster. It's time to rethink our relationship with processed foods and prioritize our health and well-being. Together, we can create a brighter, healthier future. The worse form of sugar is a part of your daily diet without you knowing about it. Maltodextrin, also known as corn starch, is used widely in packaged foods & health food products and is a known high GI index ingredient causing uncontrolled blood sugar spikes. Moreover, it isn’t included in the added sugar section of food labels, rather it is added to the total carbohydrates making it difficult for the consumer to understand its actual quantity added in food. Know more about it ⬇️ cc: Revant Himatsingka (Food Pharmer)
