30 years ago, our common lingo was not how it is today. Back then, "clouds" only existed in the sky, "tweeting" was limited to birds, and "AI" meant contacting your tech-savvy friend for assistance. In the present day, with advancement of technology, even passwords are becoming obsolete and replaced with fingerprints, facial recognition, retina scanning and even palm veins. In honor of HeiTech's 30th anniversary, we gratefully reflect on our journey from floppy disks to flying drones and from pagers to pocket-sized supercomputers (smartphones). We've changed, we've grown, and even fall sometimes, but we've got back up again. Here's to another 30 years of creativity, motivation, and maybe eventually learning how to use all these modern devices to brew a nice cup of coffee. Vamos!

A Journey of Grit and Resilience The Indian Military Academy's Passing Out Parade on December 15, 2024, was a testament to resilience, determination, and unwavering dedication. Among the newly commissioned officers stood Lt. Kabilan V, whose inspiring journey has touched countless hearts. Hailing from a small village near Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Kabilan's path to becoming an officer was filled with hardships and setbacks. Growing up as the son of a daily wage labourer, Kabilan faced financial struggles. His father, Vetriselvam P, watched from a wheelchair during the parade, the physical scars of years of hard work visible in his hands. His mother, Panmaiyammal, who passed away three years ago due to cancer and Covid-19, was missing, yet her spirit was with him every step of the way. Despite numerous rejections and personal losses, Kabilan’s resolve never wavered. "I failed so many times, but I had to get into the defence forces, and I did it. This is not just my personal success; it belongs to everyone who aspires to join the Indian Army," he shared. Kabilan's story is a powerful reminder that no dream is too big, and no obstacle too great to overcome. From a government school in Melur to a civil engineering degree from Anna University, Kabilan’s journey proves that grit and resilience can break any barrier. "Courage inspires me," Kabilan says, reflecting on the strength that guided him through every rejection. Kabilan’s success is a shining example that no matter where we come from, determination can shape our destiny.
