After a successful three months, today marks the final day of Arthur Halsall and Sakshi Kabre's summer internships at FOR EV! Through our work with the Saltire Scholars Programme, we've loved being able to bring two young, aspiring team members on board to provide key learning opportunities in the EV sector. 🚗 🔌 Katrina Devine Senior Programme Executive at Entrepreneurial Scotland said: "On behalf of Entrepreneurial Scotland, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to FOR EV for hosting our scholars Sakshi and Arthur this Summer. Your support has provided them with life-changing opportunities that are essential in shaping their future careers and, by extension, the future prosperity of Scotland. "The Saltire Scholars Programme is Entrepreneurial Scotland's flagship programme designed to find, grow, and connect students with the ambition and potential of becoming future leaders for Scotland. We are thrilled to see the positive impact of this collaboration. 🤝 "Arthur and Sakshi have been wonderful Saltire Scholars. They have seized this opportunity to its fullest and have thoroughly enjoyed their time working with the amazing FOR EV team in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Their commitment and passion have been evident throughout. It has been a privilege to witness their growth both personally and professionally. They should be incredibly proud of their achievements. 🏆 "Thank you once again for providing an innovative, supportive, and dynamic environment. We look forward to continued partnership and success together." We'd like to say a big thanks to Arthur and Sakshi for all their hard work, and to the Saltire Scholars Programme for their commitment to driving career opportunities across Scotland's next generation. 💼

Happy National Intern Day! Internships are more than just a stepping stone; they are a way of giving back and helping aspiring professionals choose the right career path. Today, I want to reflect on the importance of internships and share my personal journey. During my undergrad time, I interned with multiple businesses in real estate, banking, construction, call center startups, and business consulting. Each experience provided me with valuable insights and helped shape my understanding of various industries. One memorable internship involved working with a CPA on a groundbreaking project for the first credit card in Japan. My role was to recreate all the financial statement projections for the first five years—a six-month endeavor that taught me invaluable lessons. While I discovered my passion for working with numbers, I realized that my true calling was to work directly with people, rather than just crunching numbers in the background. Internships provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between the academic world and the real world. They allow individuals to gain practical experience and set realistic expectations of what a financial planner's role entails, and vice versa. To all the interns out there, your journey is just beginning, and the experiences you gather now will shape your future in incredible ways. Embrace every opportunity, learn from every challenge, and always strive to connect your academic knowledge with real-world applications.
Today is National Intern Day, and we want to celebrate the invaluable contributions of our intern, Sydney Chapman. She shared her experience interning with North Texas Wealth Management this summer. Sydney describes her time at NTWM as a tremendous learning opportunity, as she gained practical experience in meeting with clients and applying academic knowledge to real financial situations. Internships like Sydney's not only provide hands-on experience but also offer fresh perspectives and foster a collaborative learning environment. As Sydney prepares to return to college, we are grateful for her dedication and the skills she has developed during her time with us. #NationalInternDay #InternshipExperience #WealthManagement #LearningOpportunity

Founder of The Externship | CEO, Guiding Wealth | Visionary Leader Shaping the Future of Financial Planning
Let’s talk about the differences between a traditional internship and The Externship. I created The Externship in 2020 to help aspiring financial planners who had their internships canceled due to the pandemic. So why keep The Externship going after 2020? Because we heard about (and saw for ourselves) the unique benefits of this program! So many Externs told us how much they… - appreciated being able to learn at home on their own time. - enjoyed hearing from several different financial professionals. - could not feasibly take part in a traditional internship because of full-time jobs or caretaking responsibilities - learned by completing homework assignments pulled from real client scenarios. - loved earning 180 CFP Board Standard Pathway experience hours over the summer. There are many aspiring financial planners who don’t have the opportunities or means to complete an internship. But they can get hands-on experience, mentoring, training, and official experience hours on their own terms! That’s why we keep offering The Externship — to support as many people as possible.
