COEP Technological University (COEP Tech) joins hand with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for up skilling students. In a bid to equip the students with the world-class skills and building skilled manpower to narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills, COEP Tech University has forged an alliance with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The said collaboration will facilitate execution of unique models of skill training programs aligned with the Skill India Mission and sponsored by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, completely free of cost to students. A MoU to this effect was signed between these two institutions of national repute was signed on 5th December 2023 in the presence of Dr. Sanjay Gandhi, CMD, Aspire Knowledge and Skills India Pvt Ltd, NSDC Partner; Dr. D. N. Why our universities are not Research oriented? Bcoz, ( I know never start an answer with bcoz but, still I want to ) they are busy with non value addition work in academics and toiling their efforts for some accreditation or certification or some grade. Institutes are measuring success by Placements, which is not a true sense of measure of any Value addition, coz anyways the students get trained after their graduation. Wake up Profs, time to come out of your classroom, get involved with Industry and solve real time problems. The same big Industries, you also need to invest in campuses in India. A Glimpse into the Future: My Encounter with Visionary Umer Abdussalam As I navigated through the vibrant corridors of the IEDC events at CEV (College of Engineering Vadakara) and IEDC TLY , I had the fortune of meeting a person who embodies the spirit of innovation and the promise of tomorrow: Umer Abdussalam . Umer, the Chief Executive Officer of Edapt , author, education consultant, startup mentor, and the driving force behind the ambitious '100k Malappuram Coders' project, is a technologist whose vision transcends the horizons of our current technological landscape. His insights into the Fourth Industrial Revolution are not just thoughts penned in a book but are actions set in motion, influencing countless aspiring minds. The panel discussion was nothing short of enlightening. The discourse revolved around sustainable living, the quality of life, and the boundless potential of technology in shaping a better world. Umer's perspective on sustainable development and quality enhancement reflects a deep understanding of the intricate balance between progress and conservation. His initiatives, particularly in coding education, are testament to his commitment to empowering the youth with the skills necessary to navigate and lead in the coming era.
