Supporting Our Staff: One Less Thing to Worry About As a working mum, I know firsthand the challenge of juggling childcare during those staff PD days before the school year begins. It’s a logistical puzzle many educators face—ensuring our own children are cared for while we prepare to care for others. At Penrhos College we recognise this challenge, which is why we offer a free Crèche for staff. Our incredible Junior School team provides a safe, caring space for children (from 4 years of age), giving parents peace of mind while they focus on professional learning. This initiative is part of our Penrhos Staff Wellbeing Framework—a living document we are always working on, shaped by staff feedback, evolving to meet their needs. Kim Hiscott, Executive Director of Andrew Fleck Children's Services and OPC Board Member, sat down with Debbie Groff, Child Care Deputy Senior Administrator for the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) in Washington State. In 2021, Washington State became the first state in the US to license outdoor, nature-based childcare programs for preschool and school-age children. Cedar Woods is thrilled to announce the successful sale of our childcare site at Mason Quarter, Wollert, to leading property group Oreana, with Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten confirmed as the operator. RPM GRP led the campaign and their commitment and expertise were instrumental in ensuring the successful facilitation of this sale. The 2,621m² site at 58A Geata Street will be home to a 122-place childcare facility, with construction forecast to commence in 2025 . This state-of-the-art facility will be a valuable addition to Mason Quarter's growing community, supporting local families with quality early learning services within walking distance of their homes. 🙌 NEW PROJECT WIN! ⁠ We're delighted to announce that Built Environs has been engaged to deliver the New Schools 2026 Bundle A project for the Victorian School Building Authority.⁠ These schools in Melbourne’s western and northern suburbs will meet growing enrolment demand, ease pressure on surrounding schools, and provide local kids with a place to learn, play and grow close to home. The new schools, consist of three primary schools, two with supported inclusion for students with disabilities, and one with an Early Learning and Childcare Centre. The facilities include administration buildings, modern learning neighbourhoods and community hubs, all  designed to create an inclusive and supportive environment for every child.
