Discover the Transformation: No.48 Extension and Refurbishment Project Construction Overview! We are thrilled to share the incredible journey of one of our latest extension and refurbishment projects! Over the past 5 months, we've transformed an existing house into a beautifully modernized home, seamlessly integrating new additions with the original structure. From initial demolition to the final finishing touches, to create a space that perfectly aligns with our clients' lifestyle needs and preferences. Month-by-Month Breakdown: Month 01: Focused on the side extension, with works on foundations, below ground drainage, and the beam and block floor. Month 02: Progressed the side extension walls and roof, ensuring the structure was watertight. Month 03: Interior transformations, including the removal of walls and the existing fireplace to create an open-plan living area. Month 04: Completed internal openings with structural steels and plasterboarding, and made external openings for picture windows and bifolding doors. Month 05: Installed underfloor heating pipes and began kitchen installation. Final Weeks: Focused on finishing touches like painting, door hardware, flooring, skirtings, and kitchen worktops. Do you fancy a bit of project inspiration? 💭 Take a look at how Nudura UK ICF was used to construct this Passivhaus standard house! 🏡 Designed by architects Ecotecture Ecological Design, this house consists of a crescent-shaped detached home that steps and slides into the slopes of the site and features a curved brise soleil. Nudura was specified for the walls with a thermally broken super-insulated deck system that would take a load of 5 kN/m. The heavier construction option was chosen to provide thermal mass that balances the heating gains and losses due to the large areas of glazing. 🪟The insulating element of Nudura’s ICF acts as a buffer to the thermal mass allowing the slow release of heat into the building to ensure a constant internal temperature throughout the year. 🌡️ The semi-subterranean nature of the design also meant that the build materials had to withstand a damp environment – ruling out the option of timber. The finished design and ICF have made it possible to reduce thermal bridging to a minimum with the enhanced air-tightness standards required for Passivhaus compliance! #ICFConstruction #TheCurlyHouse #NuduraICF #PassivhausHouse #PassivhausStandard #FutureStandard

🚦Developers, start your villas!🚦 Refurbishments, that is, by adding value to the weakest part of the building: the Door & Window joinery. With a full-sized Double Glazing Unit (DGU), your next purchaser will be raving about your development. What does "full-sized" mean? It means a 12mm-14mm spacer separating the two glass panels in a thicker window sash, which translates into higher sales prices. 💰🏠 This is not an upgrade; this is Next Level Joinery's minimum standard. Choose better. Choose value. Choose higher sales prices. 📈🔨 #Developers #PropertyValue #DoubleGlazing #TimberJoinery #NextLevelJoinery #RenovationSuccess #TimberNerds
We’re collaborating with NZ Builders Limited on these Point Chevalier villas. We provided the full joinery package for the back project and a stunning front door for the project at the front. How can an architect help with my home design on a difficult site or surrounded by landscape? Architects design solutions that work with the terrain, using the site's natural features to their advantage. Whether it's creating tiered levels for a hillside home or maximizing space on a narrow lot, architects ensure your home fits into the environment. Additionally, architects can design around natural elements like trees, water features, or views, incorporating the surrounding landscape into the overall design. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also creates a more functional, sustainable living space that takes full advantage of the site's unique characteristics.

Finding land for new developments has always been challenging…sometimes commercial property owners are unaware of the development potential for upward extensions. They can be challenging but they often make effective use of existing buildings and land and often create a sustainable form of development with little to no impact on green space. When designed correctly, considering all the constraints, they can bring huge development potential in highly sustainable town and city centre locations. Cannon Clarke Architects assisted a private developer in creating 6 residential flats above a mixed-use setting of ground-floor commercial and first-floor residential which was approved by North Norfolk District Council today. The design retains the mixed-use heritage of the site, complementing the original 1970s architecture, which features a pedestrianised public courtyard and a blend of residential and commercial uses. The new upward development proposal will be clad with vertical architectural boarding with an overall framing of render. The existing brick parapet will be raised to ensure the set-back roof top mass is in proportion to the host building and metal balustrading will form in-board Juliet balconies for the living room areas. The design ensures that no significant overlooking onto neighbouring properties will occur further than at present with the existing first-floor accommodation. When viewing the increased mass of the second-floor extension from street level it is only the roofscapes of the adjacent precinct buildings that are partially obscured. The proposed form being of no greater height than the existing roof crown. If you own commercial property and would like to explore the development potential, our expert team are on hand to assist in maximising your development potential. #Construction #Planning #Architecture #NorthWalsham #NorfolkArchitects

The ZTC team has completed a premium four-apartment complex that stands out for its intricate technical solutions and aesthetically refined design. The two-story buildings have a total area of approximately 1,500 m² and are designed to ensure maximum comfort and The construction process presented several challenges, including limited construction site space, difficult access, and the need for high-capacity equipment. Thanks to meticulous planning and a skilled team, the project used a 90-ton crane to install pre-fabricated panels that already included plaster and gypsum board finishes.
