Today we want to share some more details about the project in Austria.
Considering the demanding spatial conditions and specific maintenance requirements, a system had to be designed that was robust enough to lift heavy components of the dewatering system while being compact and space-efficient to integrate seamlessly into the facility. At the same time, work safety and the efficiency of maintenance processes were to be significantly improved.
For this special application, a custom design of the brackets for a single-girder underslung crane was developed to maximize lifting height by using an electric trolley with an ultra-low headroom hoist. This custom solution was planned, manufactured, and installed by Summer Metalltechnik GmbH

I love it when people share pictures and videos of construction equipment (thanks to Steve_Earthmoving .).
I have been saying for a while that I think efficiency will define the next 10+ years of construction equipment design and operation. The image here is of an excavator with a number of efficiency upgrades - tab boom, tilt-rotator, etc.
Yes, it costs more. But as the original post says - it could lower operational costs substantially by reducing fuel consumption and preventing the need to hire 3 or 4 different machines. As the construction industry drives to next zero, it's important to look at all tools to reduce fuel consumption, not just a shift to battery electric.
But whilst we are talking about battery electric machines, more sophisticated machine control - and smarter machine control - can help to reduce energy consumption meaning either better performance out of a battery or a route to reducing the size of batteries.
What do you think? Is efficiency key?

Now thats how to spec out a machine. With Gps, tiltrotator and tab boom. and a machine that’s big enough to take on more but can also do the work of smaller machines.
Why have 3 or 4 machines costing a lot more when you can spec out one machine that can do so much. More fuel burning. More idling. More maintenance and so on.
Tab boom is brilliant for lifting in close. Giving you a greater lift capacity. Working in tight areas you can keep the boom lower down and work it far better.
Tiltrotator on this transforms this machine to still do task where you need smaller machines but still can do bulk earthworks. Heaving lifting and taking on any kind of task.
The compact design also lets you into tight spaces.
This machine may cost a lot but in the long run. You won’t need 2 or 3 hired machines that cost you more. With ops that may not be as good and lower the cost of transport. Imagine the amount of attachments you’d need for just 2 or 3 machines. In the long run. Something like this will save you a lot more. And that’s a fact.

Efficiency is the heartbeat of successful construction projects. With the #TRIO Panel Formwork system, you can achieve efficiency that translates to faster project completion and lower costs. Let's delve into the features that make TRIO an efficiency powerhouse.
⚙️ Fast Working Operations: Minimal panel sizes which allow panels to be orientated both horizontally and vertically, streamlining the process, whilst reducing labor time.
🚀 Quick Connections: The BFD Alignment Coupler, the single component for all panel connections, ensures panels are flush, aligned, and tight in a single operation.
🌐 Large-Area Shuttering: Standard panels up to 3.30m x 2.40m providing a high surface evenness with minimal tie positions, facilitating faster construction at great heights.
These innovations come together to form a system that minimizes downtime and maximizes productivity.

At Chantland-MHS, we've been building rugged, reliable belt tripper designs for over 70 years. When a Missouri-based aggregate processor came to us with a unique request—replacing decades-old, manually-operated trippers that were powered by the main conveyor belt—we were up for the challenge.🔧
The solution? We designed and built custom manual belt trippers that not only mirrored the original's structural integrity, but included new features for easier operation and longer lifespan.
Here's how we did it:
👉Simple lever controls for the operators to engage and control the tripper
👉Ceramic tiles on all contact surfaces to withstand wear from abrasive granules
👉Dual braking system with spring tensioned clamps to prevent creeping during operation
👉Cross-over platforms and stairs for easy operator access
The result? A high-performing tripper that blends historical design with modern improvements. Read more at the link below:
